Chapter 1: Chores, Chores, Chores
Allie Johnson; a thirteen year old girl with brown, curly hair to her waist and brown eyes woke up. It was a Friday morning as always. Allie sat up and stretched. “Chores Friday.” Said Allie. Wait! That doesn’t rhyme! Thought Allie, getting out of bed. It was a clear day outside. Everybody in town was now at work or selling or buying. Allie took a red gown, took black shoes and put it on. Then she brushed her hair and exited her room. Mrs. Johnson, Allie’s mother, and two year old Jenny, Allie’s little sister, were in the kitchen. Jenny was sitting on the counter watching Mrs. Johnson, now two weeks pregnant, stir batter for a cake. “Mom, what’s all the cakes and cookies for?” asked Allie, noticing the pile of sweets that Mrs. Johnson had made. “Oh, I got a job.” She said. “W-W-What? Mom, what about Jenny?” asked Allie. “Oh Jenny’s staying with your step-cousin, Jennifer downtown.” Said Mrs. Johnson, picking up Jenny. She put Jenny down on the window seat in the main room. “But…but Mom your store… where is it?” asked Allie. “A few blocks away from here, we are moving to a stone house with a barn with it already built, just it’s white. The fanciest house in town I say.” Said Mrs. Johnson. While Mrs. Johnson was blabbering about the new house, Allie heard the words ‘we are moving to a stone house with a barn’ in her head. “Mom, we can’t move!” said Allie, placing her hands on the table. “Allie dear, your father has to ride Black two miles, if we move here we will be closer to your store, school, my store, and the city hall.” Said Mrs. Johnson. “But Mom…” said Allie. “No Allie, now go do your chores.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Allie walked into her room, gathered the clothes and placed them in the bucket. Then she made her bed [fluffing the pillows] and then she sat down and placed her head in her hands. What am I going to tell Peter? ‘Hey Peter I’m moving two miles away from here?! Gr….stupid mom and dad. Thought Allie. She stood up, took the bucket and walked outside and dumbed in the clothes bucket [it’s bigger] and filled it with water from the pump near her house. Allie took a washboard, scrubbed and hung all the clothes up. When she was done, she dumped the water out of the bucket and then took the clothes she had folded neatly in a pile and took them inside. Mrs. Johnson was working on the cake still. She was adding a pink flower to the chocactle cake. Allie rolled her eyes and then walked into the rooms, putting the clothes in the chests, and then she placed the basket outside. Allie then began washing her window and then she went outside to the barn. The animals were baaing as usual and Allie went into the barn to let the animals out. Bella, a old cow, was laying on the ground dead. Allie sighed, patted Bella, and then led her calf and her husband away. Allie then let the horses out who galloped into the fields. She walked into the chicken coop, let the chickens out in their field gate and then gave them food. When she went back inside, Mrs. Johnson was writing a note. Allie managed to peak over her mother’s shoulder to read;
Dear Pete,
I need the wagon at home for my bakery orders to be brought to my store; ‘Honey Buns’.
Honey buns? What a stupid name! Thought Allie then went on reading.
Bring the wagon down as soon as possible. Love,
Mary
Allie walked away, as her mother turned to her. “Allie bring this note to your father.” She said. Allie nodded and walked outside and took her clysdale; Emily then she rode Emily two miles to City Hall. Allie got off Emily and then she went inside. “Um… my name’s Allie Johnson. I’m here to see Pete Johnson.” Said Allie. “How old is his daughter?” asked the manager suppisouly. “Which one?” asked Allie. “The oldest.”  He said. “Thirteen.” Said Allie. The man hesistated then said, “Go on in.” When Allie entered Mr. Johnson’s office, Mr. Johnson was writing, hunched over his desk. Allie walked over. “Um… Papa?” asked Allie. “Oh Allie, what is it?” asked Mr. Johnson. “Mom, uh she wanted me to give this to you.” When Mr. Johnson had taken the note, opened it, read it, then closed it he said, “Wagon’s in the back, take Black with ya he’s already hitched. I”ll ride Emily home.” Allie walked out back took the wagon and rode it home. When she was at home Mrs. Johnson ran out with the sweets in her hand and loaded them in the back. She picked up Jenny [Allie got off the wagon] and then Mrs. Johnson got on the wagon with Jenny and rode off.

Chapter Two: A New Home
The next couple of days were hard; Allie did more chores and packed, Mr. Johnson rushed through his work to get home, Jenny was learning she would have her own bedroom, and Mrs. Johnson was busier than ever before.
One day Allie came home all tired and when she opened the door nothing was in there! No boxes, no furniture or one movement of life! Allie ran out to the barn; empty! Allie ran two miles to the stone house in which the wagon was parked and the animals in the barn. Allie entered the house commonly but when she entered instead of an old dull house [which she had expected] she saw an amazing wonderland! Inside the house people from town were inside pushing things around. Mr. Johnson stood in the middle of it all, Jenny on his side. “In that room.” Said Mr. Johnson,  pointing to a door and they carried a small bed in that room. “I wants to see me’s door!’ said Jenny, jumping up in down. “Not yet Jen, you see you might get hit.” Said Mr. Johnson. One man walked in. “Where’s this bed go?” he asked. Allie saw five men holding her bed. “That room next to the door right there.” Said Mr. Johnson, pointing to another room. The men walked in there, carrying Allie’s bed along with them. “Papa!” said Allie, running over to Mr. Johnson. “Allie, where in the world were you?” asked Mr. Johnson. “At work!” said Allie. “Oi, help me!” said a man. Allie’s chest had crashed on top of him. Allie recognized him. “Ahh! You’re the man who pushed me into the creek!” said Allie. The man stood up. “Sorry sir, I must be going… I have stuff to do.” He grinned and walked out. “Papa, did you tell him where Mama works?” asked Allie. “Yes dear, but I’m sure he’s not-“said Mr. Johnson. But Allie cut him off with the words; “I’m coming mama!” And she ran out the door.
Allie ran two blocks following the man put he entered the City Hall and then came out and then went into an old shack. Allie saw a window opened and dropped below it to listen. “Lala, I’m home!” shouted the man. “Oh hello Dudley!” said the woman, Lala. Allie heard small feet. “Daddy!” said two little voices. “My girls!” said Dudley. Allie heard more running and then a hug. “Daddy guess what I made a paper airplane today!” said one of the voices. “Debbie I think you might be an artechit one day.” Said Dudley. “What did you do today Sophia?” “The same; Mama read to me.” Said the other little voice. “You know we are running out of money so um… you all need to become maids.” Said Dudley. “But Dudley!” said Lala. “No I’m sorry but it’s the only way we can survive. If not then we’ll die.” Said Dudley. Allie sat there listening and felt bad. She crawled away from the window and ran home.
All the men had disappeared the wagon was on the side of the house and Mr. Johnson was out front, sawing wood. “Daddy, what are you doing?” asked Allie, trying to forget what she had heard. “Starting to make a porch… after the porch, a shed.” He said, sawing the wood. Allie nodded. “Mom quit her job as governor?” asked Allie. “Yep.” Said Mr. Johnson, taking the wood, scanning it then smoothing the wood for no stickers or splinters. “Do I need to bring Bella out?” asked Allie. “I took care of her.” Said Mr. Johnson, putting another piece of wood on and then cutting it. Allie walked inside the house were Jenny sat on her bed in her bedroom with a small doll. Allie walked into her room and wasn’t the least surprise when there was her own fireplace. Allie walked over to her chest opened it, took her clothes and placed them in the closet. Then she took her shoes and put them in there too. Then Allie took her sewing kit, paints and canvases, and her old china doll in there and then closed it. When she was done she straightened her sleeves, sat on her bed and began to think of things she could do. Nothing came to her mind and when nothing came Allie gave up and went to sleep for a nap.

Chapter Three: Playing
When Allie woke up she stretched and combed her hair. She put on her shoes and then went outside to town. She went to her old home and then slowly walked up the hill. There was nothing there expect Indians dancing and Kyle dancing with another girl. Allie saw Mary dancing with another Indian boy and then Allie walked to the creek. At the edge of the creek she heard voices and stopped. She peeked out and saw Peter with another girl. Her hand was in his hand and he was smiling at her. “I love you Carrie.” He said, kissing the girl on her cheek. The girl, Carrie, looked at Peter. “Peter do you have a girlfriend?” she asked. “Yeah, you.” He said. “Really? Well I heard rumors you had a girlfriend named Allie…. Allie Johnson, the mayor’s daughter?” asked Carrie. “Uh… no um… we broke up… so no I only have you.” He lied. Allie felt anger in her fists. “I love you Peter.” Said Carrie. “Me too Carrie.” He said. Allie ran down the hill and then tripped rolling down into mud and then she began crying. Kyle, an Indian and Allie’s x-boyfriend ran down the hill to Allie and helped her up. “You alright?” he asked. “Yeah… just… it’s us all over again just with Peter Simmons.” Said Allie. “I’m sorry.” Said Kyle, hugging Allie. Allie hesitated for a second. I have a boyfriend but he’s cheating on me so we are through! So I can hug Kyle. Thought Allie and then she hugged Kyle and cried. “Hey mud bath nice.” Said Kyle. “I can’t go home looking like this.” Said Allie. “Come on then.” Said Kyle, grabbing Allie’s hand and running in the direction of the creek. He pushed Allie into the creek and then jumped in after her. Then Allie splashed water on him and then she saw Peter standing up and walking towards her. She also saw Carrie hiding behind the rocks. “Allie why are you cheating on me?” asked Peter, holding out his hand. “I’m not dating you anymore seems that you already have Carrie.” Said Allie, gesturing to Carrie, who ducked. Peter pulled his hand back and looked at Kyle. Kyle looked at Peter then went under water. Allie pulled Kyle up and then she went under water, came up, and whipped her hair around, getting Peter wet. “Peter we can be friends but I can’t date you anymore.” Said Allie. Peter nodded. “Yeah I understand…” said Peter. He looked at Carrie. “Carrie go home.” He said in a nice undertone voice. Carrie ran off into the woods. “Come on guys, I know a nice place to go play at.” He said. Allie and Kyle got out of the water and followed Peter. “So how long have you and Carrie been dating?” asked Allie. “Two days.” Said Peter. “Hmm sounds nice.” Said Kyle. They laughed and Peter blushed. “Here it is.” Said Peter, coming to rocks. “Oh wow! Look!” said Allie. They were standing on a rock ledge and there was a rope swing tied to the tree above them. Below them was water. “How deep is it?” asked Kyle, looking down. “A couple feet deep, it’s safe to jump in from here.” Said Peter, grabbing the rope. Then Peter pushed off the ledge with the rope then jumped off the rope and splashed in. “Hey come on!” said Peter, coming to the surface. Allie went in then Kyle.

Chapter Four: Joel Deer
After playing a while Allie, Peter, and Kyle heard a noise. “Who’s there?” asked Kyle, hopping out of the water. “Kyle….” Said Allie, scared it was a hunter. A boy popped out. “Hey Joel.” Said Kyle. A brown headed boy with green eyes came out of the bushes. Another Indian. “Hi.” Said the boy, Joel. He climbed out and then saw Allie. “Hello.” Said Peter. “Hello.” Said Allie. “Helloooooooo.” Said Joel. Allie blushed. Allie saw it was getting dark. “I need to go home.” Said Allie, climbing out of the water. “I’ll bring ya home.” Said Peter and Joel. “Ok Peter go on home, Carrie will get mad if she sees you walking Allie home.” Said Kyle. Peter nodded and left then Kyle scampered into the woods. Joel and Allie walked to Allie’s house. “So do you want to go out?” asked Joel. “No Joel, I’m sorry I don’t know you too well, but Kyle, Peter, and I are playing tomommrow, want to come?” asked Allie. “Uh… sure.” Said Joel, stopping in front of Allie’s house. “Thanks… um night.” Said Allie, opening the front gate. “Night’.” Said Joel. Joel watched Allie go inside and then left.
The next day Allie dressed in her father’s old shorts and t-shirt and then Allie took her shoes, put them on and ran to the woods. Kyle and Peter sat on stones by the creek talking. “Yeah I know right?” asked Kyle. Then Peter elbowed Kyle and Kyle saw Allie. “Hey Al.” said Kyle and Peter. Joel popped out. “Hi.” He said. “What’s Joel doing here Kyle?” asked Peter. “I don’t know.” Kyle said back. “I invited Joel to come.” Said Allie, turning to them. “Why?” asked Peter and Kyle. Allie slapped Peter’s leg hard and then when she turned to Kyle, Kyle pulled back and landed in the water. Allie laughed when Kyle pulled himself out of the water. “Oh… I’m going to get you!” said Kyle, running towards Allie. Allie screamed and took off towards the rocks where she saw Kyle reaching out to grab her dad’s t-shirt, jumped from the rocks, to the rope swing, slipped, and fell towards the surface of the water. When she hit it she felt a tingling sensation and then all of the sudden she saw everybody jumping in. She closed her eyes and saw her dad laying in his bed with Mrs. Johnson wrapping his leg up, Martha and Timothy smiling, and Allie also saw her on her wedding day. But she couldn’t see her finace’s face. She saw her parents’ faces and her brother and sister and her nieces and nephews but nothing else. It was being held in a place which Allie had never been before. She felt her lungs breaking and she swam to the surface. Kyle, Peter, and Joel were at the top of the rocks howling like wolves. “Come on Allie, do it with us.” Said Joel. “No I don’t think so…” said Allie . “Oh come on!” said Kyle. “Yeah Allie.” Said Peter. “Oh… ok.” Said Allie and she howled. Kyle jumped, grabbed the rope swung around in a circle on it then let go and went into the water. Peter jumped next and grabbed the rope, dangled a little bit and then jumped off next to where Kyle had been. Joel ran, slipped and fell and grabbed the rock ledge. Allie screamed, pulled him up and then fell of the ledge herself. She tumbled down towards the rocks but all of the sudden she felt herself flying. Allie looked up, Kyle was on the rope, holding onto  her waist. When they were over the safe water Kyle swung Allie up, grabbed onto her into his arms, and then jumped off the swing and tumbled towards the water below. A few seconds before hitting the water he let go.

Chapter Five: Sunday and Play time
On Sunday morning Allie woke up. It was shining inside her new bedroom and she laid there for a second listening for the door to open and close next door. Finally it happened and Jenny walked bare foot past Allie’s bed where Allie heard, “Morning!” from Mrs. Johnson. Allie climbed out of bed and went into the kitchen with her pajamas on. “We are going to church today.” Said Mr. Johnson, grabbing his toast and munching into it straight through the middle. Allie sat down. “Church?” asked Allie, thinking about Kyle and Joel. “Yes church… that mangy boy Peter Simmons is coming.” Said Mr. Johnson. “Papa, he’s my friend.” Said Allie. “Well in that case… that nice boy Peter Simmons is coming.” Said Mr. Johnson. Allie took her eggs and toast and began eating it.
After eating, Allie went into her room and took off her nightgown, pulled on a green gown and black shoes then brushed her hair then raced out of her room. “Mom… Dad… can I go ask if Kyle and Joel can come?” asked Allie. “No.” said Mr. Johnson. “Yes.” Growled Mrs. Johnson. “I mean yes…” said Mr. Johnson, looking at Mrs. Johnson. Allie ran outside towards the wood. There were wolves who started growling. “Shush…” said Allie. She rushed to Kyle’s tent and shook him awake. “Wait! No mama!” shouted Kyle. “Shush Kyle… it’s me.” Said Allie. Kyle opened his eyes. “What?” asked Kyle, rubbing his eyes. “Come to church with me, put on your old human clothes.” Said Allie. “They’ll be useful.” Said Allie, taking some jeans and a shirt from Kyle’s pile and leaving his tent to Joel’s tent. “Joel, put these on.” Said Allie. When Allie was in the center Kyle came out and then Joel. “Come on.” Said Allie. The wolves growled and Kyle and Joel snarled at them then the wolves quieted. Allie, Joel, and Kyle rushed to Allie’s house. Then they ran in. The boys ate and then Jenny, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson got dressed then they all ran to the wagon, where they hooked up Black and drove into the church.
After church Kyle and Joel rushed back to their camp to get ready to play while Allie got dressed and came out, met with Peter, and they ran to the creek. Kyle and Joel was spitting on rocks and making them skip when Allie and Peter got there. “Hey.” They said then howled and raced there. This time Allie jumped in first [because she got in there first] and then Kyle, Peter, and Joel.
Chapter Six: Tim and Martha
It was raining outside. Allie was inside sewing a hand bag for Kyle’s birthday. Mrs. Johnson was rocking and was reading her poetry book, Jenny was lying in Mr. Johnson’s lap asleep and Mr. Johnson was staring at the fire. There was a knock on the door. “Anybody going to go get it?” asked Mr. Johnson. Allie stood up and walked over to see Tim and Martha. “Tim! Martha!” said Mrs. Johnson running over. “Where’s the kids?” asked Mr. Johnson. “We got Alice to babysit.” Said Martha. “We just realized Allie’s birthday was fixing to come up so we decided to come give her a gift.” Said Tim, handing a wrapped present. Allie ripped it open and saw a cage. “I don’t need a cage Tim.” Said Allie, looking at Tim and Martha. “Open it.” Said Martha. Allie opened the cage to revel a spotten puppy dog. “Her name is Darla.” Said Martha.

Chapter Seven: Darla
Two weeks passed since Tim and Martha had left. Allie, Kyle, Joel, Peter, and Darla were at the creek playing. Darla was sitting on  the bank sleeping and Allie, Kyle, Joel, and Peter was swimming and jumping. Every few seconds Darla would jump up and bark at a squirrel or raccoon. And then everybody would laugh. Allie soon realized Mrs. Johnson had told Tim and Martha about Clever’s death and they decided to give her a dog to replace Allie’s empty heart. Then they succedded!
At home Allie stroked Darla and snoozed off.
[Sorry these chapters were a bit short.]

Chapter Eight: All is Peaceful
Allie’s birthday had passed and only her family and Kyle, Peter, and Joel came to it. Today Allie was writing back to Peter who had went to Kentucky for the summer. Allie wrote;
Dear Peter,
Good to hear you will be back soon! Of course you can’t miss next summer or else it wouldn’t be right… I got your gift and I will treasure it for always!
Love,
Allie
Allie looked at the silver locket which had an ‘A’ marked on it. It was Peter’s gift to Allie. Allie went to the post office, mailed it, then went home. “I wonder….” Said Allie, pulling on her pajamas. She climbed underneath the covers and looked at the window that was open. “If Peter… if halfway home.” And then Allie dozed off into happy thoughts and dreams.

Allie Johnson #2 [The first one should be Allie Johnson #1]

Allie Johnson #2
By: Emma Ladner
Sequel to:
Allie Johnson

Chapter One: Peter Simmons
Allie, a tall young twelve year old girl with brown curly hair a little past her shoulders, brown eyes, and not much of tan stood on her bed. “Nine days till Little Jenny turns one!” said Allie, back flipping. “Allie Johnson! Make your bed, no wonder your bed so messy!” said Mrs. Johnson. Jenny, Allie’s little sister who was beginning to walk, waddled in. “Al.” said Jenny. Jenny couldn’t say Allie’s full name so Allie taught her to say “Al” instead of say “Bo”. Allie smiled and took Jenny. “You ready to turn one Jenny?” asked Allie. Jenny looked at the ceiling. “Foo.” Said Jenny, looking around. Mr. Johnson came inside Allie’s room. “Allie I need you to make a little pallet for your nieces and nephews… Margret and Peter and Tim and Alice and their children are coming for Jenny’s birthday.” Said Mr. Johnson. “Yes sir.” Said Allie. “I also need to see you in my bedroom.” Said Mr. Johnson. “Yes sir.” Said Allie. When Mr. Johnson left Allie put Jenny down and made her bed; she pulled up the covers and fluffed her pillows. Then she straightened the wrinkles out and fluffed her pillows once more and then placed it on the bed. Then she took her dirty clothes and placed it in the bucket. She walked to the closet and took out three blankets and she laid them on the floor. She put another mallet with another three blankets, then another with the same amount of blankets. Then Allie sat down on the ground pooped. “Allie dear, can you please do the laundry and the dishes for me today?” asked Mrs. Johnson. “Why?” asked Allie. “Because I need to take Jenny to market with me so I can get some sewing things.” Said Mrs. Johnson. “How about I go instead Ma, I mean all you have to do is give me a list and BOOM I’ll be off.” Said Allie. “Well…. If you insist.” Said Mrs. Johnson, handing a piece of parchment to Allie. “Thanks Mom!” said Allie, gathering all her money and Mrs. Johnson’s money. Then she ran off to the market.
The market was busy as it always was on Friday’s. “Twenty-five dollars.” Said a man to another man. Allie walked over. “Sir um… can I have two melons, three grapefruits, and a pack of strawberries?” asked Allie. “Sure sweet heart.” Said the man. “Hey what’s your name?” asked the man. “Allie Anne Johnson, you look familiar.” Said Allie. “Yes I am a friend of your Papa’s, I helped with the barn and I expect to see your papa here soon…” said the man. Allie put the money on the desk and left with the melons, grapefruit, and strawberries. “Hmm…. Sewing kits… sewing kits.” Said Allie. She turned the corner and saw a thin old woman up ahead. Allie walked up to her, paid her for two sewing kits, then turned and left. “Hey Allie!” said a voice from behind Allie. Allie, still walking, turned and looked over her shoulder then found herself falling. She had crashed into another boy. “Oops… sorry.” Said the boy. “Fine, it’s fine. I was being clumsy.” Said Allie, gathering up the melons, grapefruit, sewing kits, and strawberries. “Um… I’m really sorry uh, Peter Simmons. My papa works at this market.” Said the boy, helping Allie up. Allie stuffed the stuff in her bag and said, “I’m Allie Johnson, I’m in a hurry. See my mama just gave birth to my little sister Jenny nine months ago so um… I need to help ma.” Said Allie. “Interesting… hey anything else you need?” asked Peter. “No, I just need to get home.” Said Allie. “Here I’ll walk for ya.” Said Peter, holding out his arm. Allie was shocked. “Um no I’m sorry I have a boyfriend.” Said Allie. “Ok I’ll just walk you home… as  a friend.” Said Peter. “Ok.” Said Allie.
Side by side Allie and Peter walked towards Allie’s house. “Um so, you have any older brothers or sisters?” asked Peter. “A sister named Margret and a brother named Timothy. Tim for short.” Said Allie. They stopped in front of Allie’s house. “Bye.” Said Peter, putting his hands in his pocket and walking away. Allie walked inside. A note was on the table it said; Off at your papa’s city hall. Be back in two hours with little Jen. – Mama
Allie put the food away and took her sewing kit and went into her room. It was raining as soon as she sat on her bed. Allie looked outside the house window because she had seen movement out of the corner of her eye. Kyle was walking in the trees… talking…talking to another girl. “Kyle wouldn’t do that.” Said Allie out loud. But then again, Kyle was a Indian and that was Indian girl. She took her cloak, a white one and put it on and walked outside following him. Kyle was indeed talking to another girl. And he was talking about Allie! “Yeah I know some stupid girl named Allie Johnson. And no I wouldn’t cheat on you.” Said Kyle. Allie stopped dead in her tracks, slipped in mud and fell and mud covered her as if she was a heap. Kyle and the girl turned around, Kyle was holding his bow and arrow. “Come on Kyle.” Said the girl and they turned and went on walking.
Chapter Two: A Hard Breakup
It took Allie a little while to watch them walk away and then she got up and followed them. The rain washed the mud off of her but she was still wet [of course] because of the rain. She followed Kyle and the girl and then Kyle and the girl stopped at a river. “My papa drowned here when I was five… my mother well…. She died when I was born.” Said the girl. “Sorry about that Mary.” Said Kyle. Mary? That was the girl Allie was following?! Allie watched Kyle do a move on Mary and then they looked at the river. Then Kyle waded into the river and sat in the water. “Come on Mary, it’s fun!” said Kyle. Kyle’s scared of that river! Yelled Allie in her mind. “Aren’t you scared of the river?” asked Mary. “Nah, what makes you think that?” asked Kyle. Allie screamed and walked up to Kyle and pushed his head underwater. When he came up Allie screamed at him, “You little cheat! I can’t believe you! ‘Oh no Allie, I’m scared of the river!’ and ‘Allie I wouldn’t cheat on you!’ all of that was lies?! And what about when you said you loved me, huh? What was that a lie too to keep me with you so you could win this Mary hunk?” “Allie, I’m sorry I just-“said Kyle. “No! No I can’t believe I trusted you! My dad…. I should I have just let him kill you! It would have a been whole lot of heck easier!” said Allie. “Allie, please baby-“said Kyle. “Baby?! Don’t call her that! I’m your baby!” said Mary. “Yes Mary- I mean – Allie please don’t leave baby!” said Kyle. “No! Go kiss this Mary stupid Indian! I don’t care! Okay?” asked Allie. “Really? You don’t care? You mean I can date her when we are dating?” asked Kyle, hopefully. “No! Oh my gosh! What are you talking about?! Us dating, now!? No, you know what? We are threw! Threw! DONE FOR!” yelled Allie. And she pulled her cloak over her head and covered her eyes with her hands and ran down the hill crying. When she came inside Mrs. Johnson and Jenny was sitting on the couch, Mrs. Johnson knitting. “Allie!” said Mrs. Johnson when she heard Allie wailing. “Allie, honey what’s wrong?” asked Mrs. Johnson. “Kyle…Kyle…” said Allie, she wiped her eyes. “Here take a bath.” Said Mrs. Johnson. She filled the tub with warm water and Allie took off her clothes and climbed in. After a nice bath she got out and dressed. “Now tell me what are you talking about?” asked Mrs. Johnson. “Kyle… Kyle and I broke up.” Said Allie. “Honey why?” asked Mrs. Johnson. Allie wrapped her arms around her knees. “He was cheating on me.” Said Allie. “Oh Allie… dear I’m sorry, soup’s on the table want some?” asked Mrs. Johnson.
After some soup Allie went into her bedroom and took a letter Kyle had wrote her and ripped it and threw it out the window. “I HATE YOU KYLE!” yelled Allie and she climbed under her covers and cried herself to sleep.

Chapter Three: Drowning…drowning…help her…help her
The next morning Allie dressed in a white dress with black shoes. She brushed her hair and then walked outside to town without telling Mrs. Johnson or Mr. Johnson. When she entered town she passed everybody with a man or woman. Allie felt lonely. She had nobody not anybody at all. Allie sat down under the shade of the tree in the center of town. Everybody was pulling something. There were horses, people selling things, stores opening and closing. And children and adults talking and sitting on the street eating food. Allie sat with boredom and then wondered, Why would Kyle cheat on me? Allie thought about this until Peter Simmons, the boy who she met yesterday, came up. “Hey my dad works with your dad.” Said Peter, sitting beside Allie. “Hm.” Said Allie. She had her chin in her hands, her elbows on her knees and she was wondering what to do. “What’s the matter?” asked Peter, turning to looked at Allie. Allie looked over at him. “My boyfriend…” said Allie. “Your boyfriend what?” asked Peter. Allie straightened up. “He…he was cheating on me.” Said Allie. “There should be a law against that.” Said Peter. “Wouldn’t matter my boyfriend was a Indian… you know the one in the woods.” Said Allie. “Really?” asked Peter. “Yep…but the thing is he never really knew my real dream- I used to tell him it was being a mother.” Said Allie. “What did you want to sell stuff?” asked Peter, becoming more and more interested. “Well yeah- I paint sometimes and sew.” Said Allie. She paused once more. “But I never have got the money to open my own shop.” Peter looked at her and then said, “My dad can make you store… all you have to do is get your dad to upgrade him.” “Really?” asked Allie. “Yeah.” Said Peter. Allie thought for a second. “I’ll be back.” Said Allie, standing up. “To where?” asked Peter. Allie started running and yelled over her shoulder, “To talk with my dad!” said Allie. She kept running towards city hall when she bumped into a carriage. The carriage tipped and a man came out. “How dare you, Burger! Fry!” yelled the man. Two pitbulls came out, growling at Allie. Allie started to stand  up. “Sic her!” said the man. Allie screamed and started running. She started to climb up a tree. “PETER!” yelled Allie. Allie brought her feet up, holding her knees with one hand and her hand holding onto a tree. The thing Allie didn’t realize that the tree was over a 1,000 mile down lake and Allie didn’t know how to swim. Allie sat there screaming. The tree was wiggling. “PETER!” yelled Allie.
In town Peter heard a distant shout, “PETER!” Peter stood up. Could it be Allie? Peter then thought Wait, she’s going to her dad… it can’t be her… I’m imagining things. Then it came again; “PETER!” There was a scream. Peter realized something; It was Allie. He stood up and began to run towards Allie’s screams.
In the forest Kyle sat on a stone by the river. Mary had broke up with Kyle for a man named Justice. Stuck up git…. Mary shouldn’t be dating him. Kyle heard a scream, “PETER!” It sounded like Allie! Kyle ran past the trees to the edge and looked around. “PETER!” shouted Allie. Kyle shot his eyes towards the direction and saw Allie sitting in a tree in front of Lake Lowa! Kyle gasped. “Allie!” he said. He started to run towards Allie.
Allie sat in the tree terrified. “Allie!” shouted Peter, coming over the hill. “Peter!” said Allie. The tree tipped a little bit. “AHH!” said Allie, grasping a tighter hold of the branch. “Allie!” said Kyle, coming over the other hill. “Kyle?” asked Allie. Both boys raced towards Allie and then started fighting about who saved her. “Peter! Kyle!” said Allie. They turned and yelled, “WHAT?!” The dogs gave a mighty hove, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson came over the hill with Jenny, the man came up on the other hill and grinned, thirty people came from down because of her screams and Allie tipped into the lake. “ALLIE!” shouted Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and Kyle and Peter. Allie disasspeared under the surface. “Mhhm!” she choked. “PETER!” bubbles flew up. Kyle dived in. Peter took off his shirt and then dived in. Kyle caught Allie and then Peter grabbed her and then they started fighting and while hitting each other, kicked her up to the surface. Allie took the biggest breath she ever had in her life while Mr. Johnson pulled her up. When Allie was under her father’s wing, Allie looked at the lake. “PETER! KYLE!” shouted Allie. Peter and Kyle bursted up on the surface. “Allie!” they said. The people from town helped them out. Allie ran towards them. Kyle held out his arms and Allie passed him and ran into Peter’s arms and squeezed him. “Peter!” said Allie. Mr. Simmons, Peter’s father, came over the hill. Kyle’s Indian friends came over. Kyle raced to his friends and they ran away. “Allie!” said Peter. “Oh Peter, you’re alive!” said Allie. Mr. Simmons ran down to meet Allie. “Hello pork chop, Eric Simmons. I see you know my here son, so I’m goin’ make you a great deal, I’m going to give a shop if your father here will upgrade me.” Said Mr. Simmons. Allie turned to Mr. Johnson. “Now see here Eric,” said Mr. Johnson. Mr. Simmons looked at Mr. Johnson. “I’ll do anything to help my baby girl in her future.” Said Mr. Johnson. Allie hugged him. “Thank you Paps!” said Allie. “What do you want to call it missy?” asked Mr. Simmons. “Allie and Peter’s Shop.” Said Allie, glancing at Peter. Peter shrugged. “Deal’s a deal.” Said Mr. Simmons. “You’ll see your shop in two months filled with furniture!” And with a blink of eye Mr. Simmons turned and left without further word.
Chapter Four: Allie and Peter’s Shop
Allie and Peter began meeting at Allie’s house and began making plans for the shop. Peter said he would sell his wood things. Allie began painting and sewing. She painted portraits of the sunsets and town. Of people and flowers, toys, and furniture. She sewed all kinds of things. Finally on the day before the store opened Peter and Allie began painting a sign to hang in the store and Peter asked Allie a question.
“Allie?” asked Peter. “Hmm?” asked Allie, coloring the “P” in “Shop”. “We’ve um… known each other for three months now so… um would you… could you… Would you go out with me?” asked Peter. Allie turned to him. “I can tell you don’t ask a lot of people out.” Said Allie. Peter nodded. “Well I guess I can make an acceptance…” said Allie. Peter grinned ear to ear. Allie smiled, pulled her hair back behind her ear and began to look at the sign that she was happy about. Peter and Allie then had lunch and then after that they went out to the barn. Allie took out two horses, a tall brown clysdale mayor and then a male clysdale. They had got the clysdale from a man who was in town selling everything he had [expect food and his family and small tiny shelter] and Mr. Johnson had bought the two clysdale for Allie. Clever raced outside barking at the sheep and herding them into their stable to stand clear of the giant clysdale; the male, Henry. Allie took her saddle and placed it on Henry, fastened it, then did the same to the mayor; Emily. When Allie was done she took a rope [since they didn’t have reins back then] and put it in Emily’s mouth and then did the same to Henry’s mouth. Peter and Allie got on, Allie grabbed the sign from the side of the house, and they slowly rode into town. Nobody had clysdales and stood back in amazement at the clysdales and then returned to what they had been doing. Allie and Peter rode up to the market where a man named Dudley stopped them. “Hey, I’m offer ya two folks a good deal; give me those here clysdales and I swear I’ll give you three thousand bucks for them.” Although this was a very good bargain Allie shook her head. “No sir… we are on our way to a shop.” Said Allie. “Oh um… well uh-“then Dudley caught sight of a another man, grinned, then said, “I got to go.” When Dudley rushed off Allie looked at Peter. “Quiet odd for a man… don’t you think Peter?” asked Allie. Peter stared after Dudley then said, “He’s a thieve, his gangs around somewhere.” He looked around. “Peter, don’t judge a person but their looks.” Said Allie. “Allie, not to be mean or anything, but the correct saying is ‘Don’t Judge a book by its cover.” Said Peter. Allie nodded then it was silent between them. “Well, are we going to the shop?” asked Peter. Allie looked up, then at him, then said, “Oh yeah… the shop. Sorry dozed off.” Said Allie, grinning. Peter nodded and Allie and Peter [and Henry and Emily] went to the shop. The shop was painted white and the house was made of cement. “Papa built this?” said Peter, sliding off Henry. Allie slid off Emily, took the rope and took Henry’s and led them to the river and shade, tied their ropes to a tree and then Peter and Allie walked into the store. Inside the store was a counter and a rug… and some chairs. There was a fireplace and then there was a painting of two people; Allie and Peter. And below them in big letters it said;
Allie and  Peter’s Shop
“Pa?” shouted Peter. Mr. Simmons popped out of a doorway. “Hiya son!” he said, hopping down. “What were you standing on?” asked Peter. Allie and Peter walked towards the doorway. “No! It’s a surprise you can see it tomommrow.” He said. “Ok…” said Peter. “We just wanted to drop off this sign.” Said Allie, handing the sign to Mr. Simmons. “Hmm….very nice Allie.” He said. “How’d you know I made it?” asked Allie. “I’ve seen Peter write dear, it doesn’t look like this.” He said. He handed a piece of paper. “This is a letter he wrote to his mama when she was ill and couldn’t see.” Said Mr. Simmons. Allie took the note, looked at Mr. Simmons, then began to read;
Dear Mama,
I realized you were sick two months ago when Papa told me why you were gone. I was really scared so I’m hoping you get better… Papa told me not to worry… everything would be ok… but I don’t believe it. Mama, I since something bad is going to happen and it won’t be happening in a few years. It’ll happen this week… I since that… you are going to die. I know I’m  still young and you don’t want me to worry but I do feel it… Now I’m going to let you rest… Papa says this is enough of a letter.
Love your only son,
Peter Simmons
Allie folded it, handed it to Mr. Simmons, then said, “That was very sad.” She turned to Peter and said, “I never knew your mother died.” She said. Peter gulped. “I don’t talk about it.” He said. “Come on, let’s go.” Said Peter. Allie and him walked out of the shop. They took Emily and Henry, got on and rode back to Allie’s house. Peter [once dropping Henry off at the barn] went home to his empty cottage house. When Allie walked in Jenny was walking around, holding a rag doll. “Allie, your brother Tim and Martha are coming tonight…” said Mrs. Johnson, taking her apron and drying a plate. “Yes, believe me I’ve heard.” Said Allie. “Allie, are you alright?” asked Mrs. Johnson. “Kind of.” Said Allie, walking into her room and closing the door.
Allie sat on her bed for a long time playing with her hair. It was raining out and she was waiting for somebody to come in. Finally the door opened and in came Clever. “Hey Clever.” Said Allie, patting her bed. Clever jumped up. “Hey girl.” She rubbed Clever’s head and patted her head. Clever went into Allie’s new closet and took down clothes with her mouth. “Clever!” said Allie, hoping off her bed and putting the clothes up. “If you want to make a bed-“she took some blankets and laid them on the floor of her closet. “Then make it with these.” Clever made a bed then turned and looked at Allie. Allie moved her clothes out of the way of her bed and Clever climbed in the closet and laid down then barked. Allie closed the closet door where there was only a crack left and then went out of the room. Tim and Martha were there, climbing out of the wagons. Allie’s nephews and nieces ran out. “Maria! Mitchel! George!” said Allie, hugging Tim’s kids. Then ran in Martha’s children. “Mary! Katherine!” she hugged her other two nieces. “Oh so this is our little sister huh?” asked Tim, looking at Jenny. Jenny was standing up staring at them. “Hello.” Said Martha, bending down to Jenny. “I’m your sissy.” She said. “Al.” said Jenny. “And I’m Timothy, call me Tim for short.” He grinned. Alice pushed out of the way. “Hello Jenny.” She said. “I’m your sister in law.” William, Martha’s husband pushed out of the way. “And I’m William, your brother in law.” Mitchel looked at the adults. “You mean to tell me that this tiny little girl that’s younger than me is my aunt?” asked Mitchel. “Yes Mitchel, now be nice. One day your Aunt Jenny could get you something nice.” Said Alice, scolding Mitchel.
At dinner they all were silent when eating. Mr. Johnson was writing in his journal and Allie [once done] went into her room, took out her paints and a canvas and began painting her family eating. She pictured herself sitting where she had been and she drew her too. She drew Clever, sitting on the floor with her head on her paws, laying down and waiting for food to fall too [but was still in the closet]. Then she began painting everybody sitting there. After an a hour she was done and set it on the table in her room and then took off her clothes and put on a nightgown. Then she took a white bow out of her hair and climbed in bed and went to sleep.

The next morning instead of Allie waking up Peter was in her room waking her up. “What?” asked Allie, sitting up. “It’s open come on!” said Peter, yanking Allie out of bed.
Once Allie was dressed they ran out to the barn and Allie took Emily and Henry out and got them ready. Peter ran into the house and grabbed sandwiches and put them in a basket Mrs. Johnson had left them for lunch and breakfast. Peter thanked her, grabbed the basket, and the painting and then ran to the horses. Allie was climbing onto Emily and then she took the basket. Then she held onto the painting while Peter got on Henry and then Allie handed the painting to Peter and they rode off, down the street. Barely anybody was up yet. Mr. Johnson was already in the City Hall and Allie and Peter tied Emily and Henry to the same tree and went inside. Allie took the painting, placed it on the ground with the wall holding it up then placed the basket on the counter. Peter ran back and grabbed his stuff from his house while Allie ran back and grabbed her stuff from her house. She also grabbed her sewing kit. When they were both back at the store a lot of people were awake and getting ready to come to the markets. Allie and Peter set everything up and then they flipped the sign to open. Allie hid the basket just before their first customer came in. She bought something of Allie’s, paid for it, and then left. Three people came in after that. Then ten… then twelve! Allie was so amazed that they kept getting money! And before they knew it; it was lunch break. Allie and Peter began eating and when they were ready it was back to business hours.

The days eased in and out and as soon as Allie got home she went to sleep. It was sad when Allie didn’t get to go to work one day because her family members were leaving. So the next day it was back to work.
Chapter Five: Puppies?!
It was Friday; a Thanksgiving Hoilday. Allie was at home needle pointing while Mr. Johnson was out hunting for a turkey. Mrs. Johnson was cleaning the house like she did everyday and Jenny was talking about blocks and books. Allie was always painting or needle pointing and that didn’t affect the Johnsons. Allie looked up and realized she hadn’t been seeing Clever. She walked to the closet and opened the door and gasped.
Inside the closet laid Clever, twelve puppies with fur already was lying beside her nursing. Allie called for Mrs. Johnson and when she came in Jenny came in and she bursted into smiles.
[Sorry this was a short chapter.]

Chapter Six: Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving edged closer and closer and so far only the Johnsons and Peter knew about the puppies. Allie was worried about Kyle even though she was dating Peter. She hadn’t seen Kyle peeking out of the woods when she was doing her chores. One day Allie was harvesting when she heard a yell. Allie looked up and saw Kyle running down the hill. In fact he was sprinting…. And limping. Allie poured some water in the trough of Henry and Emily and their new foal; Isabella and then rushed out. When Kyle stopped running he ran up to Allie, grabbed her then collapsed.
Kyle was laying on the couch. He had been woonded and Mrs. Johnson was surprised to hear that Mr. Johnson had shot him in the leg. Allie wrapped his leg up with a  cloth and Mrs. Johnson fed him meals. The puppies were growing so big and Thanksgiving was only a week away. The day after finding Kyle, Kyle left and went back to his tribe.
Allie went on painting and sewing and needle pointing after that. And finally Thanksgiving came. It was a nice Thanksgiving day and Mr. Johnson [after Thanksgiving] went to war, leaving Mrs. Johnson, Jenny, and Allie alone. Jenny one day turned two and was happy about. Mrs. Johnson planted a garden and Allie and Peter made a fourtune but one day Clever died and they buried her under her favorite tree. The puppies were sold and Allie didn’t hear from her father expect in notes.

[Sad ending. =(]

Chapter One: Auditions
“Allie now remember no flirts.” Said Mr. Johnson. Allie turned to her father. “Father, I know.” And then she left to the only school in town. It was a small town and now Allie’s father was the governor. Allie’s mother was the town mayor which caused Allie to be very new to the town and nobody knew her yet. Today Allie wore a knitted dress made by her mother. It was a blue dress and it was tied with a white bow. Allie had her brown hair curled [as always], and a white bow in her hair. She wore white tights too. She also wore some black shoes in which she had gotten from her sister, Martha who was now traveling the world with her horse, Petticoat, her husband, William Franklin, and her two daughters; seven year old Mary, and five year Katherine. Allie held two books; one her scavenger journal and the other a science book which she used to study the sky and world as she traveled. Allie’s family was always on the go and even Allie’s oldest brother, Tim wrote to the family with his twelve year old son, Mitchel, his seven year old son, Thomas, and his only daughter, five year old, Marie. “Poor Marie.” Said Allie as she entered the building. Inside the building there were people inside a gym and Allie entered it. “Ok, Allie Johnson?” asked a man. “Here!” said Allie. Everybody watched Allie set her books down and then started whispering when they saw the titles; My Space and World Journal, and My Scavenger Journal. Even the man was quiet curious because most children never carried around such things. “Allie Parker, what are those?” he asked. Allie looked at the books. “My scavenger and Space and World Journal.” I said. Everybody started laughing. Allie felt a sudden blush. “Let me those.” Said the man. Allie took the books from the floor and handed them to the man. The man flipped through them seeing many words in perfect cursive, pictures of animals, plants, and flowers. He was very impressed with the solar system. “Allie, how old was you when you got these?” asked the man. “Five sir.” Said Allie. Everybody laughed. “Allie, you are very talented. I hope you can attend the play. Now time for your audition.” Said the man. Allie set the books down and walked on stage. “Who are you auditioning for?” asked the man. “Um Emily Simpson.” Said Allie. “Ok, begin.” Said the man. Allie acted with swiftness. When the music began Allie twirled for a little while, stopped, and began singing. Everybody was taken away by her voice. She sang graceful and took her time. The man was indeed impressed and thought, She’s in. Suddenly Allie was done and everybody applause. “Great! You got the act!” said the man. Allie smiled, curtsied and took her books. When she left she saw a guy and he walked over. “Hello sweet cheeks.” He said. “Um sorry, I’m not allowed to flirt.” Said Allie. She turned and started to walk holding her books in her arms. “So, um the name is Kyle.” He said. “Yes Kyle I understand Kyle. Now will you please let me leave?” asked Allie. “Whoa, what’s the hurry?” asked Kyle. “I’m not allowed to flirt.” Said Allie. “We’re not flirting, we’re just talking love.” He said. Allie walked away fast. When he blocked her again there was a deep voice,
“What are you doing with my sister?” Kyle turned around to revel a tall man. He had a brown beard and he was standing by two boys, a young girl, and a blond headed woman. “Tim!” said Allie. She ran and hugged her brother. “Uh… just talkin’.” Said Kyle. “Does my father know you?” asked Tim. “Who’s the father?” asked Kyle. “Get off before I take out my gun.” Said Tim. Kyle scampered off. “Thanks Tim.” Said Allie. “Hello Allie.” Said Tim’s wife, Alice. “Hello Alice.” Said Allie, shaking her hand. “Aunt Allie!” said Marie. Marie ran over and hugged Allie. “Hi Marie, Thomas, Mitchel.” Said Allie. The boys waved. “We’re staying’ at Papa’s place. Know where it is?” asked Tim. “I know where I live Tim.” Said Allie. So Allie lead Tim, Alice, Marie, Mitchel, and Thomas to her house. When Tim entered Mr. Johnson turned around. “Tim! Alice!” said Mr. Johnson. “Grandma! Grandpa!” shouted Marie, and Thomas. Mitchel just stood there. Marie and Thomas ran over to Mrs. Johnson and hugged her. “Hello Marie, Thomas!” she looked up. “Mitchel come over here!” she said. Mitchel walked over. “Oh you’re growing to look just like your Papa!” she said. Mitchel shrugged. “Parker thing I guess.” He said. Suddenly Allie remembered something. “Oh Mama! Papa! You won’t believe what happened!” said Allie. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson turned to Allie. “I got the part! I got the part as Emily!” said Allie. “Yes, yes very charming now um… Tim how old are you turnin’ this summer?” asked Mr. Johnson. “Well twenty-five Papa, I heard that Martha’s turning twenty-five. Didn’t realize it but she was born in the same year as me.” Said Tim. “Ahh, yes Martha was born ten months after ya. Ha, fine farm girl she was. We are installin’ a farm in the back and I was wantin’ know if you could round up some of those buds of your’s back in Townsville we could build ourself a farm. Every town need a farm you know.” Said Mr. Johnson. “Aye Papa, hey you mind if we crash her a couple weeks? Our house being fixed up.” Said Tim. “Oh Timothy! Oh do tell what happened! It must be dreadful!” said Mrs. Johnson. “Well see Ma, Alice and I were tuckin’ in the wee ones and then a stampede came of buffalos. We were covered lucky enough. And Mitchel was smart enough to build us a here basement!” said Tim. “Aye, he is a smart one. Very wise like the wise men.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Mitchel now was the center of attention. Allie sat down on the floor and took her needle point and listened to them chattering. “Mitchel how old you turning this August eh?” asked Mr. Johnson. “Thirteen Grandpa. I suppose Papa take me fishin’. We usually don’t get much of a father-son time. I mean with Papa’s tight schedule I don’t think anything can happen!” said Mitchel. “Aye, you get a day sooner or later bud. I can assure you you’ll get a day before you turn fifteen! A young lad you be then. Then your Papa will let you go down to the creek. Maybe meet some young ladies.” Said Mr. Johnson. “Oh I’m not sure I’ll allow Mr. Mitchel down there anytime soon.” Said Alice. “Aye yep, I remember. See a few weeks ago Alice and I were talkin’ and Mitchel was throwin fit because we weren’t listen to him. So he killed one of the neighbor’s cows and we’ll we now owe some money. We can’t give them any until that house is fixed.” Said Tim. “Well you’re welcome to crash here Tim! It’s a pleasure to have you!” said Mrs. Johnson. “Thanks Ma. Pa, I’ll round up some of my friends. I mean it won’t be hard buildin’ that here farm here with some friends.” Said Tim. Mr. Johnson nodded. When the men went outside and Mrs. Johnson was talking with Alice Marie came over and sat by Allie. “What are you making?” asked Marie. “A needlepoint.” Said Allie. She finished her ‘E’ in Believe. “Does Papa know about the pig Mitch killed?” asked Marie. “He killed a pig?” asked Allie, setting the needle down. “Yeah when Papa and Mama was talkin’ with the town mayor Mitch went over to the farm and killed one of the pigs then dragged it out to the woods. Told us not to tell… oh no.” said Marie. “Marie I’m sorry,  I can’t keep a secret like that from my Papa especially from your Papa.” Said Allie. She walked outside. “Oh Allie please don’t tell! If you do Mitch he’ll get Thunder and Lightning on me!” said Marie. “I’m sorry Marie, I’ll tell him I overheard him mumblin’ I could tell he was talking about a nearby pig.” Said Allie. She walked over to Tim. “Hey Tim, I overheard Mitch talking about a pig he killed. I heard he killed it when you were talking to the man and he killed the pig and dragged it to the woods. He also threatened he get Thunder and Lightning on little Marie.” Said Allie. “Aye, that boy… I’m going to go teach him some lessons.” Said Tim, cracking his fist he walked inside. Suddenly they heard screaming, and popping and yelling. “Is Mitch get hurt?” asked Thomas coming out of the house. Mitchel ran outside, holding is butt. Tim came out. “Oh Tim! You musn’t do that to Mitch, you know he’s got anger issues!” said Allie. “I can’t help Allie! A boy’s got to learn what a boys got to learn!” said Tim. Mitchel didn’t speak the rest of the day.

Chapter Two: A big Christmas Surprise
“Get up Allie!” said Marie, jumping on Allie’s bed. Allie opened her eyes to see her niece standing above her, hands on her hips. But something was different the room was different! Allie sat up and looked around. Instead of an old wood cabin she was in a stone house! The ceiling was high and there was a nice fire! There was bookshelf and a brown chest in front of Allie’s bed. NEW BED! Allie admired her silky covers. There were green. She turned to the pillows; white! “I feel like a little princess!” said Allie looking around. There was bookshelf in the corner of the room stacked with books. There was a dresser and a rug that was made of sheep fur! Allie ran over  to the chest. “Oh I hope new clothes!” said Allie. She flipped it open and indeed there was new clothes. There were also made of silk. “Santa! Thank you Santa!” said Allie. She took out a green dress. It had black where the top separated from the waist! Allie placed it on and took green shoes. She put it on and took a green bow and turned. “A MIRROR!” said Allie. She ran over to admire the big mirror. She styled her hair and put the bow in. “Oh Marie! This is a wonderful surprise!” said Allie, twirling. Marie looked sad though. “What’s wrong?” asked Allie. “I got junk.” Said Marie. Allie sat down beside her and saw what she was calling junk; a big old fat ragdoll stood in her stocking. Allie walked over  to her stocking and took a china doll. “Here Marie… I don’t like dolls that much.” Lied Allie. Marie took it and hugged it tight. “Thank you Aunt Allie!” said Marie. “Now come on!” said Allie. They ran into the next room were everybody was laughing and clapping and running around. Mr. Johnson turned to Allie. “Allie it’s a miracle!” he said. Mrs. Johnson ran over and hugged Allie. “Oh my gosh!” said Mrs. Johnson. Everybody walked into Allie’s bedroom. “Man, Allie you got a jackpot.” Said Tim. Allie giggled. Marie went over to Alice and Alice lifted her. “Well today’s the day that barn is starting to be build’t! Let’s go!” said Mr. Johnson. “Tis this a swift one.” Laughed Tim as Mitchel ran out the door quickly. Mrs. Johnson looked at Alice and Allie. “Alice, and Allie, you both go down to the bank and catch us some here fish.” She said. Alice and Allie grabbed a net and ran and got a coat on and then went to the bank. The bank was frozen and Allie wiped away some wet ice. There under the wet ice were fish frozen. “Alice I found some!” said Allie. Alice ran over. “Great Allie!” she said. Allie and Alice grabbed rocks and threw them at the ice until it cracked. Alice and Allie then threw their nets in and dragged in tons of fish. Then they wrapped their nets up and walked home. Marie and Mrs. Johnson sat in front of a fire. Mrs. Johnson was talking with Marie and Marie was staring at Mrs. Johnson. “Suddenly Grandpa ran up and grabbed the wolf and the wolf howled and ran away so quick it was a bolt of lightning.” Said Mrs. Johnson. “Wow.” Said Marie. “Oh Ma, don’t tell fibs. You know that if you run as fast or more fast then light then you disasspeared.” Said Allie. “We got the fish.” Alice changed the subject. “Great, Allie dear go get us that kettle… It’s in my room I believe.” She said. Allie nodded and walked to their room. The room was beautiful; white covers with green pillows and a black bed. There was a chest and it had green straps. Allie grabbed the new kettle that was silver and ran back in. “Go get some water.” Said her mother. Allie took a vase and ran back to the pond and dipped in some water. “Hello.” Said Kyle. “Merry Christmas.” Said Allie. “Ok, ok. I know our first meeting wasn’t so good but hey I can be a good boy.” He said. “Hmph, well my papa doesn’t allow me to date.” Said Allie. “Keep a secret from him! He’s trying to make you afraid of your own shadow.” Allie started walk towards home. “No he isn’t, my papa knows what’s best.” Said Allie. “Uh huh… well moonlight picnic?” asked Kyle. “I’m sorry Kyle, I just can’t disobey my papa.” Said Allie. “Fine then you’ll see!” said Kyle. Allie entered her gate and Tim took out his gun. Kyle dropped the bucket he’d been holding and ran away. “Tim…” said Allie. Tim dropped his gun. “Go on, Al. I don’t want no boy near you anytime soon.” Said Tim. “Tim don’t you think Papa’s tryin’ to make me a afraidy cat?” asked Allie. “Allie I wouldn’t believe that even if I slipped under some ice.” He said. Tim chopped some wood and smoothed the plank. “Well Tim… Kyle thinks Papa’s tryin to do that… and I don’t know… What if he is?” asked Allie. Tim stopped smoothing. “Allie I know I’m a boy but if I know anything I know that we men are trouble for young gals. Alice and I had dying love… almost ended up dead.” He said. “Like Romeo and Juliet?” asked Allie. “Yes like Knomeo and Julie something.” He said. “Tim you such back slapper.” Laughed Allie. Tim snickered. “Yeah,” he spit. “Well I’ll see some laughin face when Papa get his hands on you.” He said. “Be careful now, never can tell when Paps will see you talkin with that good for nothing maniac.” He said. “Kyle’s not a maniac, he’s tryin to find a girl before he leave.” Said Allie. “Go on in Allie, I have no time for chit chattin, I have work to do.” Allie shrugged and walked inside. Then she filled the kettle and hung it above the fire. “Now Allie, do be a dear and go cut up some chicken for mama.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Allie began cutting the chicken and then she hung it above the fire also. When the chicken was done Alice took the chicken, and slid it onto a plate. Allie took the kettle and poured some tea. “Here we go.” Said Allie. The girls raised their cups. “To Jesus.” They all said and drank some tea.

Chapter Three: Sneaky Kyle
It was right after school that Allie discovered a new calf had been born. It was a happy day and Allie raced home. There she dropped her school books and ran out back. “Mr. Pea.” Said Allie. Allie’s next door neighbor turned. “Oh well if it ain’t Miss old Allie. What can I do for ya cowgirl?” he asked. “I want see the calf.” Said Allie. “Well I don’t have the calf no more. I sold it to your folks today.” He said. “Really?” asked Allie. “Yeah Allie, Spring acoming and your folks don’t have more then a egg in that hen house.” Said Mr. Pea. “Thank you Mr. Pea.” Said Allie. She ran to the barn where she found a light brown cow and calf. “Oh Bella!” said Allie. “Mr. Pea gave you to us too?” asked Allie. Bella just chewed some straw. “Oh the little calf so cute!” said Allie. Bella stopped chewing then swallowed. “Oh Papa!” said Allie. She ran into the house. “Allie shush it! Your Papa ain’t feeling his days right now.” said Mrs. Johnson. Allie looked into their room. Mr. Johnson sat on his bed. He really didn’t look good. His face was red and he was snoring. “Poor Papa…” whispered Allie. “Robber!” shouted Mr. Johnson and he sat up and held up his gun. Allie screamed. “Oh Allie, just you.” He said. Allie kept breathing. “Papa, you never told me about the cow and the calf from Mr. Pea.” Said Allie. “Oh Allie I didn’t even know you were home… now please I need… some rest.” He yawned and laid down. Allie nodded then left the room. Mrs. Johnson was standing by the fire tending to the dinner; chicken. “Ma, what’s Pa going to do? I mean we only have a cow and calf… hopefully Pa will get some chickens?” asked Allie. “Yes, yes… now Allie go get Betsy and Justin… they need to be in the barn. It’s going to be raining tonight. Also get some extra hay for the animals. Make sure you also put up the shovel, axe, and wretch. We don’t want them to rust.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Allie nodded then went out front. The two horses; Betsy and Justin were chewing on some grass. “Come on Betsy. Come on Justin.” The horses were torn apart from their beloved grass and then led through the gate, through the doors, and into their stables. Allie took the pitchfork and put more hay in all their trays and then she went outside and brought the tools in. Then she ran inside as a slightest drop of rain fell. “Ma, I’m done.” Said Allie. “Yes… yes.” Said Mrs. Johnson. She slid the chicken on the biggest plate they had. “Now… I need you to clean your room.” She said. Allie gulped then walked into her room. It was messy! She had played in it a lot since she got her new bedroom design. Allie started by clearing books off her bed and then she took the quill and ink bottle, placed it on her side table and then brought the blankets up. There she stuffed the sides under the bed rack and then she fluffed the pillows. Then she took her old stinky rag doll and placed it on her bed. Then she opened the shutters and looked outside. It was raining and she could see people running for shelter in town. Allie giggled then she turned and gathered up her dirty clothes and placed them in the old bucket. Then she took it outside and set it outside and then walked back in. Then she took her clean clothes and put them away in her chest and then she picked up books and placed them on the bookshelf. She took her bows and placed them in her chest also. When she was done she walked outside. “Done.” Said Allie. Mrs. Johnson was in her room with Mr. Johnson. “Allie do you mind doing the dishes and putting them away? Your pa has a fever.” Said Mrs. Johnson. “No I don’t.” lied Allie. She wanted to play. She walked into the kitchen and began washing the dishes. She then wiped them clean and dry with a rag and stacked them. This pattern went on; wash, wash, scrub, scrub, wash, wash, scrub, scrub then she dried and dried all those dishes, stacked them and then put them away in the cupboards. When she was done she walked to Mrs. Johnson. “Done.” Said Allie. “Thank you Allie dear. That’s all I need…” she said. Allie nodded then walked to her room and looked outside. She could see Kyle but he wasn’t running for shelter…. He was running and sneaking into the woods!

Chapter Four: Indians
“I’ll be back!” shouted Allie, taking an umbrella. Allie opened her umbrella and then went outside. Then she ran to the woods. Kyle was running under the trees. Allie followed him. She then stepped on a twig which cracked. Kyle turned and Allie hid behind a bush. When she looked he was walking again. Allie followed him till he came to a camp. “Queer… never seen this place before.” Allie said. When he walked closer in two men walked to him and started to talk to him. “Indians…” whispered Allie. Suddenly they started talking and laughing! “Savages…” said Allie. Then they turned and started to walk…
They were walking for Allie!

Allie screamed and they ran. “Oh so isn’t it Miss Allie Parker?” asked Kyle. Allie said, “Why are you here?” “Because they raised me!” said Kyle. Allie froze. “They raised you?” asked Allie. “Yeah, wipeout!” said Kyle. Allie was scared this time. “B-but why are you at town?” asked Allie. “Because, they are scared hunters, like your dad and brother, will come kill me and them.” Said Kyle. “Papa and Tim are not hunters! They hunt for our food. Like animals and fish.” Said Allie. “Yeah we’re animals in your kind. But in our’s ya’ll are the animals.” Said Kyle. “You’re a fake! No wonder you wanted to date me all this time! For my parents to think I’m a savage and kill me!” said Allie. “Nope.” Said Kyle. “Why then?” asked Allie. Kyle looked at the Indians who were standing there then back at Allie. “Because I love you.” He said. “Kyle…  you’re a sweet boy  I can tell but I already told you; I’m not allowed to date.” It was pouring. “Then why did you follow me here?!” he yelled through the thunder. “Because…. Because I was scared. I cared about you! And you kept a secret from me!” said Allie. She turned and ran out of the woods. “Allie!” shouted Mrs. Johnson. Allie ran towards her home. “Allie!” said Mrs. Johnson. She brought Allie inside.
Allie sat in her bed with a cold that night. “Achoo!” said Allie. “Cold… and a fever.” Said Mrs. Johnson, feeling Allie’s forehead. “Pitty.” She said. She took a warm rag and placed it on Allie’s head. “Mama… where’s that famous girl at right now?” asked Allie. “Laura?’ asked Mrs. Johnson. Allie nodded then sneezed again. “Well she’s somewhere in Kentucky with Mary and Carrie. And her Ma, Caroline, and her pa, Charles. She’s happy right now.” she said. She then left the room and brought chicken in to Allie. “T-t-t-ACHOO!” said Allie. “Thank y-y-you ACHOO!” said Allie. “Get some rest after eating.” Said her mother and she opened the shutters. “You need some heat in this room.” She said. Allie nodded and took her rag doll. “Why did Tim leave so early?” asked Allie. “Well his house was fixed up Allie dear.” She said. Allie nodded and Mrs. Johnson blew out the candle and left the room.
The next morning Allie awoke feeling much, much better. She dressed in a red gown with black shoes and brushed her hair. Then she went out to the barn and brought the horses, the cow, and the calf out and the horses galloped around. When Allie was emptying Bella’s stall she heard a neigh. “That doesn’t sound too much like Betsy or Justin.” Said Allie. She walked to Betsy’s stall. Laying on the ground was a light coated brown horse with a blondish mane. “A foal!” said Allie. She placed her hands on her hips. “Spring time is filled with a lot of life!” said Allie. She took the foal and led it outside. The foal galloped towards Betsy. Allie walked to Betsy. “That a girl…” said Allie, patting Betsy’s back. Betsy neighed. Suddenly Allie heard tons of noise and a wagon. Allie turned to see Mr. Johnson rolling down the hill with his wagon and a new horse! She could hear animals. She could hear oinks, quacks, clucks, baas, and she could hear a bull but it wouldn’t fit in the wagon! When it came to space a bull was coming behind the wagon. “Papa!” said Allie. She ran to the gate and waved. “Hello Allie! Come help me with these animals!” said Mr. Johnson, pulling into their property. “Papa, you went to the market.” Said Allie, coming to the wagon. “Yes, I did Allie. Now open the gates for me.” Said Mr. Johnson, wrapping the rope off the bull. Allie ran over to the gates and pushed them wide and Mr. Johnson brought the bull in. The bull, when it was let go of, went over to Bella. Then Allie walked  to the wagon and grabbed some chickens and brought them past the gates to the henhouse where they ran over and began pecking at the ground. “Allie, look in the back… I think I have some chicken food in there. We also need some pig food.” Said Mr. Johnson. Allie climbed in the back to see a little puppy. “Daddy, you got us a dog?” yelled Allie. “Yes, but not any kind of dog but a herding dog… It’s a gal.” he said. Allie picked up the puppy and tossed the food to Mr. Johnson. “Thank you Papa!” she said. She ran into the gate and placed the puppy down. Then she brought the sheep out. “One, two, three, four, five, six! Six sheep papa!” said Allie. Mr. Johnson nodded and led the pigs. “Seven pigs. And five ducks!” said Allie, counting as they all walked past. Then Allie picked up the dog and brought it into the field where the puppy started to run around. “Chaser…” said Allie. “Hey…Clever!” said Allie. “What?” asked Mr. Johnson. “Clever, that’s what I’m naming the pup.” Said Allie. “Are you now? Well go tell your ma that she’ll be bit a surprise when she discoverers these folks.” He said. Allie ran inside and said, “Mama! Mama come outside!” Mrs. Johnson sat up. “Allie please…” said Mrs. Johnson. She heard a baa right outside her window. And then she dressed into a green gown and white shoes and ran outside without bothering to brush her hair. “Hello Martha!” said Mr. Johnson. When Mrs. Johnson ran over to Mr. Johnson, Allie ran to the wagon and found packs of seeds. “Corn… eggplants…tomatoes…grapes….carrots…Ohh! Wheat, we can make bread!” said Allie. “Mama Look!” said Allie, bringing the seeds out. “Carrots? Eggplants? Oh Charles, you brought us some-“said Mrs. Johnson. “Seeds.” Said Mr. Johnson. “Well let’s not wait Allie go get the fielder!” said Mrs. Johnson. The fielder, which the Parker’s called, was the plower. Allie ran into the barn and took the fielder and brought it out. Mr. Johnson plowed the lawn with it and close behind came Allie and Mrs. Johnson planting seeds. Then they watered the plants and washed their hands. “Allie go get the bucket.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Allie ran and grabbed the bucket holding the water and clothes. Then Mrs. Johnson and Allie kneeled down and took a washboard and began scrubbing. They scrubbed then hung the clothes on the dry line. “Allie go make your bed.” She said. Allie ran into her room, made her bed, and then went back out. In the woods Allie saw Kyle. But he wasn’t dressed in the regular clothes he once was. He was dressed in deer shorts with no shirt on. He had his hair combed back and he wore no shoes. “Kyle!” said Allie. Mr. Johnson turned and saw Kyle, ran outside the gates and yelled, “INDIANS!”
Chapter Five: People vs. Indians
All the people in town ran out holding guns. Mr. Johnson ran inside, grabbed his gun and ran with the crowd towards the Indians. “No!’ said Allie. She started to run after the crowd. “No Allie!” said Mrs. Johnson. She grabbed Allie and brought her in. Allie ran to her room and opened her window and climbed out. Then she raced up the hill to the Indians camp. “Hurry! Run!” yelled Allie, waving her arms as she entered the Indian’s Camp. They turned to her and looked at her. Allie hesistated then pointed at them and acted like she was running and then she pointed away from her people. The Indians started to run and when Kyle came he looked around. “What did you do?” he yelled at her. “That way! Go that way!” said Allie. Suddenly her people watched Kyle run and then they followed. “No!” shouted Allie. She took a shortcut through the woods and ran to the Indians. All the people and Indians were fighting. “No stop! STOP!” Shouted Allie. “Everybody stopped fighting. “Allie stop it.” Said Mr. Johnson. “No Papa! The truth is…” said Allie. It was silent, all eyes on her. “The truth is… that…” she walked over to Kyle and put her arms around him and looked at Mr. Johnson. “The truth is I love one of these; Kyle.” She said. Everybody in her town gasped. Kyle looked at her and Allie at him. “Allie you’re not allowed to date you’re only five!” said Mr. Johnson. “No I’m not! I’m fourteen!” said Allie. Everybody was silent this time. Mr. Johnson looked at Allie. “I’m not used to watching my little girl grow up… but Allie… he’s an Indian.” He said. “So Papa? So? What’s the difference? They are people too! We have feelings; they have feelings! We have hearts; they have hearts!” said Allie. “If you killed one of them it would be like you killing another one.” Said Allie. Everybody was silent. “Allie please…” said Kyle. “No Kyle… I can’t let you die.” Said Allie. “Papa, please do this one thing…” said Allie. Everybody looked at Mr. Johnson. “For me?” asked Allie. “I think… I think I can make an exception.” Said Mr. Johnson. Allie and Kyle cheered. The Indians saw Kyle cheering and then the chief tapped Kyle. “Sea, Napa’ killsd.” Said Kyle. This time the Indians cheered. Allie hugged Mr. Johnson.

Chapter Six: The Play
After that moment everybody around the world came to see the play of a young girl’s heart that loved an Indian and made a difference. All Indians and people came and Allie even saw the most famous western girl; Laura. When it was fixing to end Allie came out; she was the main girl playing a girl named Sophia. When the music began she sang; “I loved you more then I can tell… there’s a heart that’s inside me that I can’t tell you more that I know. I’ve told you once and twice…that I wasn’t allowed to date other guys. And so took my breath away. And I rejected you when I was scared… and I told you I wasn’t allowed to date other guys. When my heart is too hard to explain. I just reject because I am scared to tell you why… so I told you I wasn’t allowed to date other guys. And told you I wasn’t allowed to date other guys. So I’m going to try. And one fateful afternoon, you were beside a tree watching my every move wondering why do not like me and so pointed to you. And everybody started to yell at you. So I ran into the woods….and I told your kind to run. And then you yelled at me and I pointed towards the directions your kind had run and then they after you. I told them to stop and then I told them I was in love and then everybody cheered and I remember the things that I said; “I’m not allowed to date other guys.” And that was the ending of our love story…” Everybody cheered and clapped. Allie curtsied and then she turned to Kyle and raised her arm and yelled; “TO ALL PEOPLE!”

Chapter Seven: Jenny
It was a few months later when the chickens were laying eggs, cows were having calves, and the only female pig had new piglets, and the horses were having foals when Jenny, Allie’s little sister was born. Then went over the whole entire town and Allie soon found herself doing a lot of things for her mother; dishes, laundry, raking, and harvesting. She even had to feed the chickens! She felt more like a maid then a daughter now but it felt good when Mrs. Johnson would lay little Jenny down for a nap and let Allie take a break. But as soon as Jenny woke up and cried it was back to work for Allie. When it came to cooking, Mrs. Johnson would give Allie Jenny and Allie would entertain Jenny while Mrs. Johnson worked and cooked. During this time, Mr. Johnson was at the Town Hall working and trying to a hire a young man to take care of the animals. It wasn’t he didn’t trust Mrs. Johnson and Allie it was just that Jenny was causing some trouble. “She’ll be a great farm girl Papa, I can assure you.” Said Allie one night. Mr. Johnson looked at Allie. “Allie, your mother’s exhausted, keep it down.” He said. “Exhausted? Taking care of little poor Jenny all day while I’m harvesting, feeding the animals, planting seeds, bathing Clever, making beds, cleaning horses, milking cows, painting the fence, raking, sending mail, doing dishes, and doing the laundry all in the sun and she’s exhausted?! How do you think I feel?” yelled Allie. “Allie, you best get your butt into that room of your’s before I go get the stick! That old stick may be fixin’ to break but that don’t matter!” So after dinner Allie went into her bedroom and read her Holy Bible. “Allie… tomommrow, your father’s taking a day off so he can see Jenny get baptized, and yes were are going to church.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Allie nodded and Mrs. Johnson took the bible and helped Allie into her nightgown and then she read Allie to sleep.
The next day everybody woke up and Allie dressed in her finest green dress with black shoes. She combed her hair and this time placed no bow in. When she walked out Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were already ready. Mr. Johnson wore his best tux and Mrs. Johnson a red dress. Jenny wore a long white dress and together they all walked to the only church in town. During the middle of church a little girl tapped her shoulder. Allie turned around. The little girl wore dirty clothes with black hair. She was kind of Chinese and then American. She was smiling. “Allie don’t stare at the orphan.” Whispered Mrs. Johnson. “Orphan?” asked Allie. “Yes Allie… Orphan.” Said Mrs. Johnson. “Couldn’t we adopt her? She must be what do you say; seven, eight?” asked Allie. “Allie no not until I get to know her more.” Said Mrs. Johnson. “Go to the orphanage then.” Said Allie. “I will when I find time.” Said Mrs. Johnson. After church I can lay Jenny down for a nap and you go the orphanage and when Jenny wakes up I’ll take care of her.” Said Allie. “You sure Allie?” asked Mrs. Johnson. “Postive!” said Allie.
After church, Mrs. Johnson was getting ready to leave. “Ok, goodbye Allie and Jenny.” She said. And then she left. Allie turned and laid Jenny down for a nap. When Jenny was asleep in her crib Allie turned and began doing the dishes and laundry. After the dishes were dry and put up Allie brought the laundry outside and hung it up. Then she walked inside where she gathered the other dirty clothes and then she placed them in a basket. She walked into her room and made her bed and then she made her parent’s bed. Then she walked outside to the barn. She brought the horses outside and washed the horses, brushed them, and dried them. She did the same to foals. She brought the horses to the field and she milked Bella. Then she let the cow, the calf, and the bull out. Then she harvested the eggs from the hen house, filled the troughs and threw chicken food on the ground. Then she began pulling weeds out of the garden. “Ha, you workin’ by yourself missy?” asked Mr. Pea. Allie turned. “Yes Mr. Pea, you startled me.” Said Allie. “Ha, I’m no threat, he he.” He said and then he went back to his farm work. Allie raked up the leaves and walked inside and laid on her bed. Then the door opened. Allie sat up and there stood Mrs. Johnson. And she was alone.
Chapter  Eight: School
Five months after that church day Allie woke up not to herself but to Mrs. Johnson. “Today is your first day of school Allie.” Said Mrs. Johnson. “School?” grunted Allie. “Yes school Allie.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Allie got out of bed, stretched, then patted her mouth. “Mama, why?” asked Allie, she got off her bed and walked to her chest and opened it. “Because your old enough, besides I can’t be watching you also.” Said Mrs. Johnson. “You’re not.” Said Allie. She took out a red dress and looked at it. “Allie I know your old enough for school just-“ Allie placed the dress up and took out a green one. “Just you aren’t-“ Allie took off her pajamas and pulled on the dress. “Supposed to still be at home. You should be with the other-“ Allie brushed her hair and looked at Mrs. Johnson. “Kids. And plus your father has registered you to a nice-“ said Mrs. Johnson. Allie took some black shoes out of her chest and placed them on. “School…. It’s the only one in the town and it is the best instead of staying at home copying ABC’s and 123’s.” she said. “But I like copying my ABC’s and 123’s.” said Allie. “Also… this school can be a little strict but surely you won’t have problem with the stick.” She said. “Schools have sticks?” said Allie surprised. “Yes, also the teachers will love you. I mean everybody has seen you in that play and I’ve told a lot of the teachers about your brightness and how talented you really are.” She said. Allie walked into the kitchen and Mrs. Johnson followed. Allie took a pear and bit into it. “I like be smart.” She said through her pear. “Allie there’s also another thing you should know…” she said. She took a bag and placed a sandwhich, a pear, and a napkin inside. “They expect you not to talk with your mouth full.” She eyed Allie. “Oh Ma, you don’t think I’ll have a problem do you?” asked Allie. “No Allie now hurry along, you don’t want to be late.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Allie started to run and bumped into a girl. “Ow!” said the girl. “Oops, sorry…” Allie helped her up. “The name’s Allie.” Said Allie. The girl looked at her and smiled. “It’s alright it was an accident. I’m Elizabeth.” Said the girl. They shook hands. “Um your first day?” asked Allie. “Yep.” Said Elizabeth. They started walking to the school. “I heard there’s only five teachers… a math, science, English, Social Studies and then…” said Allie. “Principal… Principal Handy.” Said Elizabeth. Allie nodded and they came to the school and walked to the math teacher.
When school was over Allie and Elizabeth walked back and Elizabeth waved to Allie and walked down the street of Allie’s. Allie walked into her house and closed the door. “How was school?” asked Mrs. Johnson. Jenny was crawling around the place. “It was alright.” Said Allie, picking Jenny up as Clever ran by into Allie’s room. Allie looked at Jenny then placed her down. “You need me to do anything?” asked Allie, setting her books down. Mrs. Johnson turned, she was drying a plate with her apron. “Looks like you have some homework to do.” She said. “Yeah… some of the teachers are strict.” Said Allie, picking her books up again. “Allie when you are done with your homework will you please go let the horses and cows out… and also the chickens out of the henhouse.” She said. Allie nodded and went into her room. She studied, did her homework and was finally done. She walked outside her room and then outside the house to the barn. She opened the barn doors and let the horses and cows out and led them into the field. She climbed over the fence of the henhouse, opened the door then climbed back over. Then when she walked back in there laid Jenny asleep. There was a bark and Clever ran towards Jenny not paying attention to her. Allie ran and grabbed Jenny and Clever stepped right where Jenny had just been, leaving a big dusty paw print. “Stupid dog…” mumbled Allie. She calmed Jenny down and laid her down. Then she began scrubbing the floors. Mr. Johnson came in. “Allie you do know you don’t have to do this.” Said Mr. Johnson. Allie looked up, pulled hair out of her face, then said, “Pa, I know.” Then she began scrubbing. Mrs. Johnson looked at Allie from the dishes. “Allie I’m out to hang the laundry, make sure you bring Jenny outside when you exit the house.” Said Mrs. Johnson. Then Mr. and Mrs. Johnson walked outside, Mrs. Johnson holding a laundry basket. Allie began to wash the windows then she went into her room, gathered up dirty clothes and washed them. “I must make myself useful.” Thought Allie, standing up. “But… maybe I can make beds!” said Allie. Then she ran into her bedroom and took hold of the covers and brought them back and straightened them. Then she took her pillows, fluffed them up and then she dusted the window sill. Then she went into Mr. and Mrs. Johnson’s room, took the covers, pulled them back, smoothed the wrinkles, fluffed the pillows and then dusted the window sill. She walked into the front room where you would enter and washed Mr. Johnson’s medal for hunting. “Full bronze.” Said Mr. Johnson to Allie and Tim and Margret when they were all younger and in the same house. “Always has and always will. My most prized passion besides my children and wife.” But they all changed when Mr. Johnson’s best friend died. Sometimes Margret, Tim, and Allie would eavesdrop on him and hear him when he was going to bed, “It’s all my fault… Thomas would have never died.” And then the lights would go out.
Allie shivered and went back to cleaning. She shined the medal, hung it up again and went to the table and cleaned it. Then she went outside gathered some flowers and then brought them inside. She took a vase and placed the flowers in and then placed them on the table. And then she stopped. She took a broom and swept the floors, emptying it out in the barn yard. It was all crazy all the animals were running around. The horses were neighing and the cows… well they just stood there. Allie went back inside and looked up. “Two more years… then something bad will happen.” Said Allie. “Like what?” asked Kyle. Allie looked at the window. “Kyle!” said Allie. “Hey.” “Oh hold on.” Allie went into her mother’s room, took a basket and placed Jenny in and then  walked outside. “This is Jenny.” Said Allie. “Man, who’s the father and boyfriend of her?” asked Kyle. Allie laughed and rolled her eyes. “I didn’t give birth to her Kyle, my mom did.” Said Allie. “Oh… your mom… huh, yeah… right…” said Kyle. “I was kidding with the-with the um… um… birth thing.” “It’s alright Kyle.” Said Allie. She brought it to Mrs. Johnson and then she and Kyle and went and sat by a tree and began talking.
The End
