Gabby Woodclock

Chapter One
“Gabby! Mail!” shouted Mr. Woodclock, Gabby’s grandfather. Seven year old Gabby scrambled down the stairs towards the kitchen. Since Gabby’s parents had died and Gabby became an orphan, her grandparents who owned white house manor took her in. Gabby’s house was large indeed. To hold forty-five people of Gabby’s father side was quiet a lot of rooms and levels of the house. First off, Gabby didn’t get toys only on her birthday and Christmas. See her grandma and grandpa raised her as a young lady but she changed after she met her best friend, Forest Gump. But one year ago, Forest had left for war with his father. Gabby ran over to her grandfather. “This is from Forest Gump, I believe.” He said. Gabby looked at the letter. “May I please see it?” asked Gabby. She held out her small little hand. “Yes, yes. Here we go. Forest Gump, Mall Street.” Said Mr. Woodclock. Gabby took the letter and went inside the parlor to sit in an arm chair. “Please let it be from Forest.” Prayed Gabby. Gabby opened the letter and began with the simple words “Dear Gabby,”
Dear Gabby,
It is me, Forest Gump. I will be returning home on April 29th. And I am pleased to see you. I know you are older so I must use my manners. Even though you are well mannered I plan to see you.
Sincerely,
Forest Gump
“It is Forest.” Said Gabby. “Excuse Ms. Woodclock.” Said a maid. Gabby looked up and down at her feet. “Oh I’m dearly sorry.” Said Gabby. She sat criss-cross applesauce. The maid raised her eyebrow, shrugged and began to vacume. “I haven’t seen him in one year Maid Sally, why does he think I’m now well mannered?” asked Gabby. “Because you we’re raised by April Woodclock and James Woodclock, they are very well mannered. That’s how they found each other.” Said Maid Sally. “Really? No love at first sight just…manners?” asked Gabby. “Yes.” Said Maid Sally. “Hmm.” Said Gabby. She closed the letter jumped off the arm chair and ran upstairs. Maid Sally lay against the vacume cleaner. “That girl is strange.” She said. Then she went back to her vacume cleaner. Gabby went into her room and closed the door. She read the letter over again and again until she just put it up. Gabby grabbed her teddy bear and sat on her bed, reading a book. “Gabby?” asked a voice. “Who is it?” asked Gabby. She set down her book. “Well, you have a baby sister.” Said the voice. “What?” asked Gabby. Maid Marcy opened the door. A little baby lay in her arms, her head on her arm. She was breathing softly. “This, well… you’re grandfather made the choice that you name the baby.” Said Maid Marcy. Maid Marcy carried the baby over to Gabby’s bed. “C-Can I hold her?” asked Gabby. “Sure, of course.” Said Maid Marcy. She handed the baby to Gabby. “Aw.” Said Gabby. The baby grabbed Gabby’s pinkie finger. “I will leave you to know her. And make up your mind of what to name her.” Said Maid Marcy. She stood up and left the room, closing the door behind her. “Gabby?” asked Gabby’s cousin Marie. “Come in.” said Gabby. Marie came over and jumped on the bed. “Cool baby doll.” Said Marie, grabbing Gabby’s mystery book. “Um… Marie. This is your cousin.” Said Gabby. Marie bolted up. “Really?” asked Marie. “Yep.” Said Gabby. Marie looked at her. “What’s her name?” asked Marie. “I haven’t made up my mind.” Said Gabby. The baby yawned. “Can you give me some ideas?” asked Gabby. “Sure.” Said Marie. She looked around. “Do you have some paper and a pen?” asked Marie. Gabby pointed to her writing desk. Marie ran over and took the pen and wrote down names. Gabby picked up a pink blanket, which used to be her baby blanket and wrapped it around her. She grabbed the blanket with her small hands and yawned. Gabby smiled. Marie came over with the pen. “Circle the name you want.” Said Marie. Gabby scanned the paper. She then circled the name Allie. “Ok.” Said Marie. She rolled off the bed and went to write more names. Gabby looked at the baby. “Hi, Allie. I’m you’re big sister, Gabby.” Said Gabby. Marie came back. “Now pick a middle name.” said Marie. Gabby scanned the paper [again] and circled the name Christine. “Ok.” Said Marie. “And her whole name is Allie Christine Woodclock.” Said Marie. “Marie!” yelled Natalie, Marie’s big sister. “Bye.” Said Marie. She crawled off the bed and crawled into the hallways. Gabby could her yells from her room. Gabby picked up Allie and got off her bed and walked into the room. She peeked into the bedroom. “Why were you bothering Gabby?!” yelled Natalie. “Helping her pick a name.” said Marie. “A name? Marie! That is HER baby sister! Not yours!” said Natalie. “Sorry.” Said Marie. Natalie paced back and forth. “She doesn’t even know furniture is coming for the baby! She doesn’t know she has to share a room.” Said Natalie. “She may be fine with it. She did get a large bedroom.” Said Marie. Natalie stopped and stared at the doorway. She started to walk towards the door. Gabby gasped and ran into her bedroom, softly closing the bedroom door. She climbed on her bed and stared at Allie. “I may have to share a room. But I do still love you.” Said Gabby. Then she noticed a necklace just like her’s. Gabby picked it up. On the back the glittering words on the back were SOPHIE. Gabby looked at Allie. “Sophie? That’s your name? Well I guess I should call you that.” Said Gabby. “But sooner or later I will call you Allie.” “Up the stairs.” Said a voice. Gabby looked at the door. The door opened and a crib was carried in. “Oh, dear. You will share a room with what’s her name?” asked Mrs. Woodclock. “My mom and dad named her Sophie.” Said Gabby. “Ok. You will share a room with Sophie.” Said Mrs. Woodclock. Gabby nodded. “I know.” Said Gabby. The phone began to ring. Gabby reached out for it and picked it up. “Hello?” asked Gabby. “Hey Gabby!” said Forest. “Forest! What is wrong with your voice?” asked Gabby. “Well being in Australia for a whole year makes your voice change! I’m in a helicopter riding above your house!” said Forest. “Oh Forest! That is great!” said Gabby. “I will be home in thirty minutes over at your house!” said Forest. “Ok, goodbye Forest.” Said Gabby. “Adios.” Said Forest. Gabby put down the phone and she looked down at Sophie. “I will call you Allie, for short.” Said Gabby. Allie opened her eyes. Her eyes were as light as the blue sky. They twinkled like stars and she had black hair, just like Gabby. “You look a lot like me.” Said Gabby. “Hey Gabby. We just got done reading the paper here you go!” said Marie. She tossed the newspaper of Gabby’s bed and left the room. Gabby picked up the paper and began to read:
Mall School burns down
April 29th
We are here with Thomas Jefferson as he tells about his school burning down. On Highway 60 off the neighborhood a gym burns down. Only one man’s skeleton was found but the other ninety nine people were saved in time. The man, before he died said his friend said he would soon kill him. The man named Mr. Potter, had a daughter but that night she was nowhere in sight. They said they saw her before this fire but whenever the fire started she was nowhere in sight. People say that she claims to live in New York City. Most people say they have seen here. But will this girl be discovered? Will she be heard of? Has she died or not?
Gabby put the paper down and looked down at Allie. “Well looks like we will be here a while.” Said Gabby. And they were.
Chapter Two
Gabby, was now eight and was settled on her bed watching Allie sleep in her crib. A rock hit the window, startling Gabby and Allie. Gabby picked up Allie and calmed her. Gabby slowly unlatched the windows. A gun shot in the distance. Gabby looked outside her window. Nobody was there. “Gabby!” whispered Forest. Gabby looked down and there was Forest. “Forest! What are you doing?” asked Gabby. “War!” said Forest. Gabby’s eyes widened. “Where?” asked Gabby. “In the south! Come on! Bring Allie and Marie and Natalie! My father knows a hide out! Quickly, before they get here!” said Forest. Gabby nodded and opened her door. She opened Marie’s door and walked to her bed. “Wake up Marie and Natalie!” said Gabby. Natalie and Marie jostled and turned until they sat up. “What?” whispered Natalie, who was now fifteen. “War! Come on!” said Gabby. “Wart? Where?” asked Marie. She felt her face. “No not wart! War! W-A-R! War!” said Gabby. Natalie sat up put on her slippers and robe and took Allie. “Where are we going?” asked Natalie. “A hide out! Shush! We mustn’t awake anybody.” Said Gabby. “But what about the rest?” asked Marie. “They will hear the bombs.” Said Gabby. “Come on!” said Gabby. They opened the door and Natalie looked out both ways. “What about Peter?” asked Natalie. “Wake him up!” said Gabby. Natalie crept into her brother’s room and awoke twenty year old Peter. “What?” asked Peter. He emerged from his bedroom. “War! Come on!” said Gabby. Peter pulled on his blue robe and picked up his little sister Gabby. Gabby snuggled in his arms but when the door opened a loud bomb was heard in the distance. Then a cold rush of air blew on Gabby. “Burr.” Said Gabby. Peter pulled a small quilt off the couch of the parlor and put it under Gabby and let her snuggle in it. Peter pulled Marie into his arms by Gabby. “For emergencies.” He said. Marie smiled and climbed under the covers. Gabby had no idea how he held her but he just managed to do it. He crept outside and bolted away as a bomb hit right in front of him. “Gabby!” whispered Forest. “This way.” Said Forest. He came into view. Peter followed Forest and Natalie followed Peter. The girls just lay there in frightening eyes staring at the pitch dark woods they were going towards. “Are we going in t-t-t-there?” asked Gabby. “Si.” Said Forest. He turned past a tree. Peter bolted to follow. A bomb hit right behind Natalie. “Ah!” said Natalie. “Waa!” whined Allie. Natalie shushed her. “We’ve been spotted run!” hollered Forest. Peter dropped Marie and Gabby. He let Natalie get in front of them and began to run too. Gabby pushed past branches, stepping on stickers. A tree trunk appeared. Forest opened the tree trunk. “Go!” whispered Peter. Forest jumped in the tree trunk and the words “Whee!” were heard. Marie jumped in. Gabby took Allie and then she went down too. Then came Natalie and then Peter. There was a fire place and some peek holes. There was a bed, a table, a little kitchen that worked, some food, paintings, and a outhouse. “What war is this Mr. Jeff?” asked Peter. He closed the tree trunk door behind him. “World War Two.” Said Mr. Jeff, Forest’s father. “Come sit.” Said Mrs. Gump. Peter, Marie, Gabby and Natalie settled down. Mrs. Gump put Allie back to sleep. “We knew you would want some safety Ms. Woodclock.” Said Mrs. Gump. “Yes indeed.” Said Gabby. Gabby looked around and saw a paper she picked it up and began to read:
Mystery Girl Found
August 29th
Yesterday in Danville, the girl was found. She was in the old junkyard. She kept on saying Baba. Whenever we found out she had the flu we worked on her immeadtly. Then when it was done she remembered her father.
Mrs. Gump took away the paper. “No need for that Missy.” She said. Gabby held her head down. Peter pulled her close and she sucked in the smell of his shirt, looked up at him and said, “Peter? What was mom and dad like?” asked Gabby. Peter looked down at her and then up again. “First off, mom and dad loved us.” Said Peter. “Two,” said Peter. He turned his head to look at Gabby. “Dad looked like me and mom like you.” Said Peter. “Three, we all loved music.” Said Peter. Then he paused. “And four, on the night you were two weeks old, mom and dad died.” Said Peter. “And it’s my fault.” Said Gabby. Peter looked at Gabby. “No it is not.” Said Peter. Gabby laid her head in Natalie’s lap and her feet on Peter. And soon she fell asleep.
Chapter Three
“Wake up Gabby!” said Peter. Gabby shook awake. “What?” asked Gabby. She rubbed her head. There was dirt around her. “The war is over! We can go home!” said Natalie. She was holding Allie and Marie were beside her. “Where’s Forest?” asked Gabby. “Outside, he went to play in the river.” Said Natalie. “But come on, when we go home we can swim in the pool.” Said Natalie. Gabby stood up and shook the dirt out of her hair. “Burr.” Said Gabby. She rubbed her arms. “Is it always this cold?” “The bombs left cold gas.” Said Peter. He shook his head. “It’s sad what they did to our sister…” said Peter. Gabby looked at him. “What do you mean sister?” asked Gabby. “She’s hiding, in my bedroom. That’s why I go upstairs with dinner, to feed her.” Said Peter. He climbed up the stairs. “You coming?” he asked. Gabby looked around and turned back. “Sure.” Said Gabby. They all walked outside. Forest was wading in the river doing summersaults. Gabby smiled. “Shush.” Said Peter. They tip toed out of the woods to white house manner. Gabby looked at started to cry-
The house was perfect! Gabby wasn’t crying of sadness but for happiness! They ran inside everybody was weeping. Gabby, Peter, Natalie, Marie, and Allie entered. “They were so young!” cried Aunt Judy. “Even before the baby arrived!” said Vivian. A girl, who was Natalie’s age sat in the corner. She had hair as black as a frying pan, lips are red as a dragon’s tongue. Her face was as white as snow and her eyes as blue as the sky. She wore a blue silky dress and she too covered her eyes crying. “Hey guys?” said Peter. Everybody looked up and shoved to get over and hug them. After a hug from Aunt Cassie Gabby looked over at the girl. She sat in the corner, looking at Gabby. She had tears in her eyes. Gabby turned to a frown. Peter came over to Gabby and swept her off her feet. “Peter?” asked Gabby. “Yes.” Said Peter. He kissed her cheek. “Who is that? Over there in the corner?” asked Gabby. Peter looked at the girl. “Gabby, that is your sister.” Said Peter. “What is her name?” asked Gabby. “Grace, Grace Caroline Woodclock.” Said Peter. “My sister?” asked Gabby. “Of course, we all have black hair don’t you notice?” asked Peter. Gabby looked at Peter’s black hair it was swaying, she looked at Allie’s she had grown just a little and Mrs. Woodclock was holding her. She picked up her own hair and looked at it, black, black as a frying pan. She looked at the girl she was still staring at them, her hair was black too. “Can we go see her?” asked Gabby. “Sure.” Said Peter. He went to Mrs. Woodclock, took Allie, and walked to Grace with Gabby. Grace rose slowly as if to run away. “Grace, this is Gabby and Allie, your little sisters.” Said Peter. Grace looked at Gabby and Grace. “My sisters?” asked Grace. Gabby was surprised, she had and England ascent. “Yes.” Said Gabby. Allie turned over to look at Grace. “Graca.” Said Allie. She held her arms out to Grace. Grace took Allie. “Hi.” Whispered Grace. She felt Allie’s soft cheeks. Allie stared at Grace. Grace stared in her eyes. When suddenly…..
BAM!!! A bomb flew through the ceiling and hit Uncle Jack. “Ahh!” everybody screamed. Aunt Judy fainted. The doors threw open and there were men. Grace grabbed Gabby’s hand and flew up the stairs. Peter followed. They came into Peter’s room, Peter locked the door. “Ok, down in the cellar.” Said Grace. Uncle Bobby came. “Uncle Bobby, put the rug up after us.” Said Peter. Uncle Bobby nodded, turned and locked the door. Gabby took Allie and went into the cellar. Then came Grace then Peter. Peter closed the door and Uncle Bobby rolled the rug in place. At the second two men bursted in and killed Uncle Bobby.
The cellar looked warm. There was a chandelier which was lost last summer. There were three bunk beds in a bedroom with some dressers. There was a stove and fridge, a table and chairs, a fireplace and a clock and the stairs to Peter’s room. “Good I store food.” Said Grace. Gabby handed Allie to Grace and walked over to the couch and plopped down on it. The whole place was pretty small. Gabby laid down and began to cry. Grace came over and calmed her. Wiping a rag with warm water over her face again, and again Gabby fell asleep. “Good.” Said Grace. Peter carried her to bed and put Allie to sleep. Then he and Grace sat down on the couch.
Gabby woke up one day later. There was no sunshine as Gabby saw every morning. Just a wall of boards. Gabby remembered she was in the cellar and walked into the kitchen. Grace and Peter and Allie sat eating. Gabby sat down to eat too. “Yum.” Said Gabby, when she was done. “Time to go out.” Said Grace. She turned to Peter who was halfway up the stairs. “Well come on.” Said Peter. He opened the cellar door. Smoke flew in from the last bomb of war. The place looked terrible. Gabby and Grace and Allie and Peter climbed out. “Ew!” cried Gabby. She stepped in something. Peter came over and looked at it. “It’s Uncle Bobby.” Said Peter. Blood was over his body. Gabby turned to a frown. Then to tears but then cheered up. The windows were cracked. People were killed. Gabby saw movement of the couch. She screamed and hid behind Peter. Mr. and Mrs. Woodclock came out. Natalie and Marie followed. “Yeah!” cried Marie. She hugged Gabby. Gabby pulled away and ran outside. The place was terrible. “Forest.” Whispered Gabby, remembering her friend. She ran into the woods. “Gabby come back!” yelled Marie. Peter ran after Gabby.
Gabby made her way through the woods and came to the hideout. The door was cracked. Gabby slide down the slide, turned to Forest and went to tears.
Forest was killed.
Chapter Four
“No Forest! No!” screamed Gabby. She cried in her hands. Forest moved his legs. “Forest!” said Gabby. She ran over and helped him up. He was bloody. “Oh Forest!” said Gabby. She picked him up farther. “Come on, time to get you to the hospital!” said Gabby. She brought Forest out. Peter came and nearly hit Forest. “Watch out!” screamed Gabby. “Whoa dude!” said Peter. He helped Forest up. “Come on time to go to the hospital!” said Peter. They ran to the hospital. Forest stayed in the hospital.
When they returned home everyone was crying on the porch steps. “What happened?” asked Gabby. “Grammy and Gramps died!” cried Marie. “We are to go to our Aunt Madeline.” Said Grace. “No, no way am I going to the old hag!” said Peter. “Why not?” asked Gabby. “She is the queen.” Said Peter. “So?” asked Gabby. “She loves manners!” said Peter. “Too bad! Go pack now!” screamed Natalie. Gabby ran upstairs and started to pack. She folded her clothes and put her toys away. She then locked her suitcase and went downstairs. A carriage had arrived. A man came and took Gabby’s suitcase. “Search the place for survivors.” Said a woman. Gabby walked to the carriage. The woman stopped her. “Name please?” asked the woman. “Gabby, Gabby Anne Woodclock.” Said Gabby. She lowered her arm. “Good luck my niece.” She said. She climbed in the carriage. The men returned and they were off, leaving the house behind.
Gabby came in view of a giant castle. It was white and there were five swans in each pond in the grass. The grass was bright green with flowers and trees. The ponds had stones around them and the roads turned to bricks. When they came through the gates that were marked MW, they came to a town where there were cottages. People were shopping. There were shops with people selling fur and fruit. They came through another pair of gates to the castle. There was a water fountain in the middle of the stone street. A woman and man stood at the top of the stairs. Two men came on both sides of the carriage and helped them out. Gabby, Peter, Marie, Allie, Natalie, and Grace walked up. “Hello children. I’m your Aunt Madeline, welcome to your new home.” Said the woman. The doors opened and they entered the main hall. They were showed to a staircase and to their rooms. Gabby had a bedroom that was twice the size of her old one. There was a bed with velvet red covers and white pillows. There was a suitcase and a vanity with makeup. There was a rug and TV and chairs. There was room for a closet but instead was a wardrobe. Gabby was startled when people came in and put away her things. When they were done they bowed and left the room. Gabby stood by the chairs. She turned to the TV, turned it on and sat down and watched a show called “Be Witched”. “Dinner!” shouted a man. He carried in some chicken for Gabby. Gabby thanked him and began to eat.
After a shower, Gabby laid down in her new bed, waiting to fall asleep. Gabby laid there looking at the moon, hoping Forest was staring at the same one. Gabby smiled tossed and turned in her bed and fell asleep.
Gabby woke up a man stood in the fields running to her shouting “Gabby!” For some reason this was in slow motion. “Gabby!” he shouted again. Gabby reached her arms out to him. “Forest?” asked Gabby. “Gabby! You’re about to be killed.” Said the man. Gabby turned and knife came to her face….
Gabby sat up and looked around it had been a bad dream. Gabby settled down and closed her eyes, falling into a deep sleep.
Chapter Five
“Introducing their royal highnesses! Prince Peter! Princess Grace! Princess Natalie! Princess Marie! Princess Allie! And Princess Gabby!” said the head master. Gabby, now known as Princess Gabby, stepped out of the carriage. People cheered. Now Gabby was twelve. She looked just like snow white is what her aunt said. Peter’s wife, Jessica ran up and hugged Peter. Peter was supposed to be king but he had to wait another month. Gabby and her family walked up to Uncle Mike and Aunt Madeline. “Welcome back children!” said Uncle Mike. “You are in time, the ball is bout to start. Hurry! Get to your rooms so your maids can dress you!” Uncle Mike commanded. Peter bowed and the girls curtsied. Then they left for their rooms. Gabby’s room was on the third story. “Has anything changed since I was gone?” asked Gabby, as her maid, Maid Sally, tied her bodice. “All we got is a barn boy, and Chef Quiz has given birth to a girl named Angelina.” Said Maid Sally. She put on a metal iron skirt with holes on Gabby. Then she took a pink dress and threw it on her. “Well that is nice to know, may I have the barn boy’s name?” asked Gabby. “Forest.” Said Maid Sally. “Sounds familiar, but how am I to know? I know millions and millions of people. It could be anyone.” Said Gabby. Maid Sally came back with a pink bow. She tied it around Gabby’s waist. “So, how was your trip to see Uncle Fort and Aunt Mary?” asked Maid Sally. “Good, their children are fine. They adored Marie and I, tis this because of Natalie and Grace in the courtyard always meeting two knights Christopher and Kyle.” Said Gabby. Gabby sat down on her bed and Maid Sally put her shoes on Gabby. “I only wonder… how my old house is to be doing?” asked Gabby. “I heard it hasn’t been to since the war.” Said Maid Sally. “But tis that was four years ago.” Gabby’s hairdresser Maid Emily came in and being brushing Gabby’s hair. “You will look wonderful! I have been taking hairdressing lessons.” Said Maid Emily. “Well, Gabby. Don’t you know you are dancing with Prince Drake today?” asked Maid Sally. “Si, Aunt Madeline has told me so.” Said Gabby. “See you have been practicing your Spanish. Mrs. Potts will be happy.” Said Maid Sally. “How is my science teacher Mr. Potter?” asked Gabby. “Fine.” Said Maid Emily. She curled Gabby’s hair. “Quiet fine I suppose your highness.” Said Maid Sally. Gabby nodded. Maid Emily put a pink bow in her hair. “Viola, your new hair!” said Maid Emily. Gabby walked to her vanity. “Maid Margret!” shouted Gabby. Maid Margret, Gabby’s makeup maid came in. “Yes your majesty?” said Maid Margret. “My makeup please.” Said Gabby. “Yes your majesty.” Said Maid Margret. And she went straight for the eye liner. “One day, you will be a beautiful bride.” Said Maid Margret. She had just finished with the eyeliner and was now with the mascara. “I know, and one day I will have children.” Said Gabby. Maid Margret put away the mascara and took out the eye shadow. She began to put it on Gabby. “You know we haven’t heard much from your relatives from the north east.” Said Maid Margret. “Near White House Manor?” asked Gabby. “Si tis near.” Said Maid Margret. “Where is Thomas, my map shower?” asked Gabby. Thomas came in. “What now your highness?” asked Thomas. “Where is White House Manor located?” asked Gabby. “Here” Said Thomas. He opened his map and pointed on an island. “I don’t remember my old house. All I remember was my dear friend… Forest Gump.” Said Gabby. Gabby took her handkerchief and dabbed at her tears. “He was hurt and I never got to say goodbye.” Said Gabby. “Gabby!” commanded Natalie and Grace. Gabby stood, and turned. There was Natalie wearing her purple dress. Her blond curls held a blue bow. “Come along, Aunt Madeline says the ball is to begin when you cut the ribbon.” Said Grace. She wore a red dress her black hair in curls. Natalie knocked on Marie’s door. Marie wore a yellow ball gown. Her brown hair was down with a white bow. “Where is Peter?” asked Marie. “We have to gather Jessica first.” Said Grace. They headed to Jessica’s bedroom. They knocked on the door and she opened it. Her blond hair, the color of sunshine was wavy she wore a white ball gown. “Come along Jessica.” Said Natalie. Gabby, Grace, Marie, and Natalie curtsied to her. Jessica curtsied back. “Wait for me!” cried four year old Allie, she wore a green dress. “We are getting our crowns at the ball.” Said Natalie. “Goodie.” Said Gabby in a annoyed voice. They went to Peter’s room. Peter now had a black beard. He wore a red cape with a black shirt and pants. He wore black boots and now he looked serious. “Come along, we must hurry.” Said Peter. His hands were in fist. He turned the corner. The girls held the side of their dresses to keep up. Aunt Madeline and Uncle Mike were at the gates. The gates were open and tied between them was a ribbon. There were guards down the path to lead them to the ball room. There were extra guards for unpleasant visitors and peekers. Gabby took the scissors. “I prounce that this ball is now to attend!” said Gabby. And with that she cut the ribbon. The royal people were first into the ball room. Prince Drake came behind Gabby. He tapped her on the shoulder. Gabby twirled around. “Good after noon Gabby.” Said Prince Drake. He bowed. Gabby curtsied. Prince Drake held out his hand, “Tis I take this dance with you?” he asked. Gabby nodded. She took his hand and he led her to the ball floor. First a slow song came on. “So how was your trip?” asked Drake. “Fine I suppose.” Said Gabby. She looked at the doorway hoping to see the barn boy pass. “Suppose? What is that to mean?” asked Drake. “They are different.” Said Gabby. “Ahh.” Said Drake. “May I have the royal people come up?” asked the head master. Gabby, Peter, Natalie, Grace, Allie, Marie, Aunt Madeline, Uncle Mike and Jessica headed up. “We are here today to say that we now crown Peter as king of Camelot.” Said the head master. Uncle Mike removed his crown and placed it on Peter’s head. “And we now say that Jessica Love is now the queen of Camelot.” Said the head master. Aunt Madeline took off her crown and placed it on Jessica’s head. “And now we crown Marie as princess.” Said the head master. A crown was placed on her head. “And Natalie as princess.” Said the head master. “And Grace as a princess.” Said the head master. “Allie as a princess.” Said the head master. “And Gabby as a princess.” Said the head master. He placed the crown on Gabby’s head. Everybody clapped. Then Gabby glanced at the doorway and can you guess who Gabby saw? Can you guess? Well right there smack in the middle stood a brown headed boy, he had green eyes and was pale. And could you guess who he was? Out of all this time. Gabby gasped.
There was Forest Gump.
Chapter Six
Gabby scrambled off the stage while everybody was clapping. Forest saw her coming and started to walk away with a mop. “Forest!” said Gabby. Forest turned around. “How do you know me?” asked Forest. He gulped. “I mean good afternoon your highness.” Said Forest. “Forest! Don’t you know me?” asked Gabby. “No…” said Forest. “Me! Gabby!” said Gabby. He shook his head. “No, no, no you aren’t Gabby.” Said Forest. “I can prove it!” said Gabby. “Oh yeah?” asked Forest. “Prove it.” Gabby thought for a moment. “I knew you when you were in preschool.” Said Gabby. “She taught me to read.” Said Gabby. “We were best friends in kindergarten.” Said Gabby. “And you saved me from war.” Said Gabby. “Come on! I know you looked it up in the newspaper!” said Forest. Gabby thought for a moment. She pulled off a silver heart necklace with the words on the front and back BFFL. “You gave me this in first grade!” said Gabby. Forest stared at Gabby. Then he hugged her. “Gabby.” Whispered Forest. “Gabby?” asked a voice. Gabby turned around and there was Drake. “Who is this?” asked Drake. Gabby turned to Forest and back to Drake. “A friend.” Said Gabby. “Oh um… Forest this is Drake. Drake this is Forest Gump.” Said Gabby. Drake looked at Forest. “I’m sorry, your highness.” Said Forest. He bowed and stayed in that position. “Come along, Princess Gabby. This is nowhere you should be.” Said Drake. Gabby took his hand and he led her back to the ball room.
Gabby ran some water. “How dare he!” said Gabby. Gabby’s bath maids Maid Heart and Maid White were there. Gabby took off her dress and metal hoop skirt. Then she took off her bodice. “I mean really! Lead me away from the barn boy!” said Gabby. She took out her bow and took off her shoes. “And after I’ve haven’t to seen him all these years!” said Gabby. “Well, you are a princess.” Said Maid Heart. “And Drake is a prince, and Forest is a barn boy.” Said Maid White. Gabby climbed into the cool tub and Maid White and Maid Heart began to wash her. “Why can’t Drake be nice?” asked Gabby. “He is trying to pertect you.” Said Maid White. “From Forest?! Ah, there’s no pertecting needed there!” said Gabby. “What Drake’s parents told me is that, he is trying to stay with you for a long time. And then when he and you get old enough, marry you.” Said Maid Heart. “Humph! Well he better change his mind.” Said Gabby. She climbed out of the tub and wrapped her robe around herself. Then she stepped into her slippers. “Maybe after dinner you will change YOUR mind.” Said Maid White. Then she and Maid White left.
Gabby came into her bedroom. Maid Sally and Maid Margret were there. “Good afternoon, Princess Gabby.” Said Maid Sally and Maid Margret. They curtsied. Gabby curtsied back. Maid Sally threw pajamas on Gabby. As Gabby pulled up her britches, Maid Margret combed her hair. When she was done the head master knocked on the door. “Come in!” order Gabby. Maid Margret and Maid Sally went out the door to the service quarters. The head master opened the door carrying a round package. “Package from your grandparents.” Said the head master. He set the package down, turned an headed out. Gabby went to the package. Gabby opened it and there was a baby white kitten. “Meow.” Said the cat. On the cat was a tag. Gabby took it and read:
To: Gabby Anne Woodclock
From: Forest Gump [The barn boy]
Gabby smiled and opened the bag. She took the kitten out and petted it. “Hey girl.” Whispered Gabby. “Meow.” Said the kitten. “I’m going to name you Angel.” Said Gabby. She petted the kitten’s soft white fur. The kitten purred and Gabby giggled. “Time for bed your mistress.” Said the head master. Gabby nodded and climbed under her covers she let the kitten sleep on her pillow. Gabby laid in bed reading that day’s newspaper:
House still not restored
Four years ago, White House Manor, owned by Elizabeth Woodclock and James Woodclock, was destroyed and war. After many bombs and people being killed the house was still not under control. A few days later a woman named Marcy Woodclock, emerged from the hospital. She said six of her sisters’ children were missing. Nobody has found them but their names are listed under; Gabby Woodclock, Sophie Woodclock, Peter Woodclock, Natalie Woodclock, Marie Woodclock, and Grace Woodclock. The Woodclock children are still not located anywhere.

Chapter Seven
That morning Gabby dressed quickly in a red dress with gold going down the middle. She pulled on red high heels, combed her hair and hurried out her door. Maid Sally and Maid Margret saw her dressed and went to breakfast. Gabby hurried outside to the barn yard. “Farmer Billy!” said Gabby. Farmer Billy, who was grooming the horses turned. “Good morning your majesty.” Said Farmer Billy. “Have you seen Forest? Forest Gump?” asked Gabby. “Out in the gardener I suppose.” Said Farmer Billy. Gabby curtsied, “Thank you.” Then she turned and ran towards the garden.
Forest was pulling weeds. “Hi Forest.” Said Gabby. Forest stood up. “What is it now?” asked Forest. “I wanted to say I’m sorry for leaving you without telling you goodbye.” Said Gabby. She hugged Forest. Forest hugged her back. “You didn’t have to apologize.” Said Forest. “Forest!” yelped the head master. “I must go on my trip.” Said Forest. “When will you be back?” asked Gabby. “This August I suppose.” Said Forest. “Ok.” Said Gabby. She hugged him once more. Then Forest turned and headed for the front of the castle. Gabby stood staring out at him as he passed the castle Gabby picked a rose and began with the simple words “He loves me, he loves me not.”
